Chapter 332: Alistair White’s Discovery
Chapter 332: Alistair White’s Discovery
The successor who awakened their Superpower in Mornfell.
’Could they be among the Bishop Clan?’
Nina Jacobs thought as she walked, but she quickly dismissed the idea.
Veronica Ziegler had already been to the Bishop Clan.
That meant the person she was looking for wasn’t in the Bishop Clan either.
’It seems it’s someone else.’
And Veronica Ziegler’s departure had taken six more people with her.
Alistair White’s group had shrunk drastically, with only about thirty people remaining.
"I never thought a Dual Element Superpower User like you would have to walk on eggshells around a woman."
Magnus York taunted as they walked.
"I’ll give you that."
With Veronica Ziegler gone, Alistair White spoke without any restraint.
"The Ziegler Family’s power isn’t something just anyone can borrow, wouldn’t you agree?"
Alistair White looked at Magnus York provocatively.
"The Mutated Animal tracks are getting denser here."
A Speed Element Superpower User at the very front of the group spoke up.
Nina Jacobs was also observing the surroundings.
This must be the edge of the nature reserve. The terrain grew rockier up ahead.
Eventually, someone discovered a stone cave.
Seeing this, Magnus York and Alistair White both dashed over.
"This must be the Mutant Tiger’s lair."
Piles of white bones were already heaped outside the cave.
It gave off a foul, coppery stench.
"Normally, tigers don’t seek out lairs. It seems this is where they successfully hid from the acid rain."
Ben Lawson added.
"Wait. No Space Superpower Users are allowed inside."
Magnus York blocked the entrance.
Alistair White didn’t object either.
Although Eryx Rhodes looked displeased, he had no choice but to stay outside.
At a critical moment, no one would trust a Space Superpower User. Ben Lawson patted Eryx Rhodes sympathetically.
Likewise, Alistair White’s Space Superpower User was also left outside the cave.
Nina Jacobs walked inside with Wayne Warner.
She noticed this cave was much larger than Gloomfang had been.
Just a few steps past the narrow, hidden entrance, the space opened up into a vast stone cavern.
Clumps of brown fur were scattered all around—unmistakably the same color as the Mutant Tiger they had killed earlier.
Narrow, winding tunnels branched off from the main cavern, and skeletal remains were everywhere on the ground.
"Pick up the pace. Be thorough, don’t miss anything."
Magnus York watched Alistair White and his men warily as he searched.
He also glanced at Summer Warner and Wayne Warner, noticing they were just standing off to the side with no intention of interfering.
Only then did Magnus York relax.
’It seems Summer Warner really doesn’t know what’s in here.’
"Be careful."
Nina Jacobs said to Wayne Warner beside her.
They passed a fissure in the ground and looked down to find it pitch-black inside, like a bottomless well.
"How can there be nothing?"
Not far away, Magnus York looked around, deeply disappointed.
They had been searching for a while, but the detector showed no reaction at all.
"Where’s Alistair White?!"
Only then did he realize Alistair White was gone.
"I just saw him go in there."
Leo Flynn said, pointing to a pitch-black opening in the wall.
"Damn it, why didn’t you say so sooner!"
Magnus York immediately led his men in after him.
Winslow and Calix Stone frowned, then followed them inside.
"Let’s go take a look."
Only after everyone else had gone in did Nina Jacobs follow with Wayne Warner.
It was a long, low tunnel, and the smell inside was unpleasant.
More than a dozen flashlight beams cut chaotically through the darkness.
Nina Jacobs and Wayne Warner walked slowly. She noticed a lot of animal droppings on the ground.
It was obvious they weren’t left by a large Mutated Animal.
On closer inspection, she saw dark liquid splattered on the lower part of the wall. Nina Jacobs guessed it was blood from some kind of animal.
"This probably isn’t the Mutant Tiger’s territory."
Nina Jacobs tried to use her Five Senses Enhancement to investigate, but she didn’t hear any suspicious sounds.
Until a short BEEP BEEP came from further ahead.
’Is that... the sound of the detector?’
’So there really is a Mystic Ice Core in here.’
Just then, Alistair White was glaring at Magnus York with a furious expression.
He spread his arms to shield a large, black stone block behind him, one that was a full meter long.
"I found this first."
As soon as Alistair White spoke, Winslow, Calix Stone, and the others immediately moved to protect him.
It was a giant Mystic Ice Core.
"We all came in together, so we all get a share. Alistair White, get out of my way."
This was the first time Magnus York had ever seen such a large Mystic Ice Core.
And there was only one.
The Thunder Element Superpower in his hand crackled, and Ben Lawson and the others all took an attack stance.
"There’s definitely more than just this one. Give this one to me, and you can have all the rest we find. How about it?"
If Summer Warner and Wayne Warner weren’t here, he wouldn’t have to worry.
This one Mystic Ice Core alone was enough to drive people mad.
Magnus York sneered. "How about no. You think I don’t know what kind of person you are, Alistair White? We split it now, or don’t blame us for what happens next."
Alistair White started laughing. "You’re right. There’s no love lost between us. Since you want to take it by force, then let’s see you try!"
As he spoke, several glints of cold light shot toward Magnus York under his gaze!
The Thunder Element Superpower in Magnus York’s hand flared brightly. Several Gold Spikes were snared by lightning, frozen in mid-air.
"Against me, do you really think you have a chance of winning?"
Magnus York wasn’t worried. After all, he still had Summer Warner backing him up from behind.
Alistair White was a Gold and Speed Element Superpower User. Before Magnus York’s attack could even land, he vanished from his spot!
BANG!
A Metal Shield enveloped the Mystic Ice Core.
Alistair White stood atop the Metal Shield and said, "As long as I’m here today, nobody is taking this thing."
"Then let’s put that to the test."
At Magnus York’s word, both sides started fighting.
"Summer Warner, kill him for me! We’ll agree to any demand you make!"
Magnus York yelled to Summer Warner, who was standing at the entrance, while fighting off Alistair White.
"I never agreed to kill anyone for you."
Summer Warner replied.
’She’d worked so hard to orchestrate this confrontation; how could she possibly let it end so easily?’
Seeing Summer Warner remain unmoved, Alistair White couldn’t help but roar with laughter. "Is this what you were banking on?!"
Magnus York hadn’t expected Summer Warner to refuse to help.
But now, it was impossible for either side to stop.
Nina Jacobs, on the other hand, simply took Wayne Warner and left the battlefield.
"It’s not safe in there. I suspect it’s the nest of another kind of Mutated Animal."
Nina Jacobs said as they walked.
’The tunnel in that cave is extremely low; a Mutant Tiger couldn’t possibly get through.’
’It also couldn’t be any of the large Mutated Animals she had killed before.’
’The most likely possibility is a Mutated Weasel’s den.’
The two of them had only taken a few steps down the corridor when they sensed someone else had followed them out.
It was Ian Logan.
With Ian Logan were eight other people.
Although Nina Jacobs didn’t know their names, she knew they were all mercenaries.
Ian Logan immediately put on a sycophantic grin and said:
"Don’t be nervous, you two. We just want to get out. We’ll stay out of your way."
"Yeah, yeah, that’s right! We’re just passing through, just passing through."
The others nodded hastily.
Nina Jacobs glanced at them, then had Wayne Warner step aside.
The group immediately ran past them.
Thomas Stone hadn’t expected Summer Warner to be so accommodating. "I thought for sure she’d figured us out."
If a fight had really broken out, they would have been no match for those two.
"Even if she did, so what? Someone that powerful wouldn’t care about that little stuff."
Ian Logan replied with conviction.
