Chapter 12 First Friendship Exchange Competition
Chapter 12 First Friendship Exchange Competition
"Mi'er, what brings you here!" Wu Heyi looked at her with the same care a brother would give his sister, gently stroking her head as he spoke softly.
"Don't touch my head, or I won't grow tall!" Mi'er's cheeks instantly turned as red as ripe apples. She hurriedly pulled Wu Heyi's hand away to stop him from touching her head, but she couldn't bear to let go of his hand.
"Dean Sen asked me to come, it seems to be for the junior academy exchange competition." Wu Heyi knew immediately, after all, he spent all his time in the dean's office, so he didn't need to hide anything from him about minor suggestions.
This exchange meeting seems to involve all the junior academies within the Heaven Dou Empire. The Heaven Dou Royal Academy, where Wu Heyi attends, is a merged academy combining junior and intermediate levels, naturally making it the host of this exchange meeting.
Each college is required to send three students to participate. As the host college, Dean Mori hopes that Wu Heyi can bring Mi'er along.
In fact, even if it were just Mi'er alone, it would be more than enough. After all, Wu Heyi and Mi'er have both reached the level 29 limit of the Great Soul Master realm. It would only take them two more days of training to break through to level 30.
However, Wu Heyi has been suppressing his cultivation level and not breaking through, and Mi'er has followed suit. Otherwise, the two of them would definitely have become the youngest Soul Masters in history.
Initially, Wu Heyi didn't think much of the exchange meeting. In recent years, Wu Heyi has been both a student and a teacher, nurturing many geniuses.
Within the academy, a small club had quietly formed around Wu Heyi, almost forming a group that only geniuses could join. Among them were some outstanding individuals, so Wu Heyi hadn't paid much attention at the time. However, when Dean Sen announced that all junior soul master academies of Tiandou would participate, Wu Heyi couldn't help but feel excited.
Because it means that person might come.
"What's wrong with you, He Yi?"
Seeing Wu Heyi suddenly staring blankly and grinning like an idiot, Mi'er quickly shook him to stop him from acting silly.
However, Wu Heyi quickly realized what was happening.
"It's nothing, it's nothing, I just thought of some interesting things."
Wu Heyi quietly explained to Mi'er, then looked at Dean Liang, who was silently drinking tea to the side.
"Old man, were you planning to send me all along? Why didn't you tell me beforehand?"
Faced with Wu Heyi's questioning, Dean Liang simply put down his teacup with a nonchalant air.
"Why should I tell you? You're not a faculty member. I'm just informing you in advance."
Dean Liang spoke with conviction, but in reality, the two were testing each other.
Wu Heyi wanted to ask if there were any prizes for the exchange competition, which was why he had never been told.
After all, Wu He followed the two deans around every day, and he was the first student to know about 90% of the major and minor events in the academy.
Dean Liang was well aware that Wu Heyi had known about the upcoming friendly match all along, and calling him up was no different from awarding him a prize directly.
"Alright, alright, it seems our feelings have faded!"
Wu Heyi turned his head away, looking like he was sulking!
But Dean Liang completely ignored him. The two had been together for five years and were already intimately familiar with each other.
Seeing that there was nothing more to say, they sent Wu Heyi and his companion away. However, as the hosts, they had some information and materials readily available.
Wu He walked along, flipping through the pages.
"This is the first exchange competition. Although the competition system is not complicated, it is extremely brutal."
Mi'er looked at Wu Heyi with a face full of doubt.
"Unity, what does this mean?"
"The competition consists of three parts: elimination rounds, points-based rounds, and challenge rounds!"
"First of all, there are 36 teams from participating colleges. However, the elimination rounds are held simultaneously in six venues, with six teams from each venue entering the maze together for a chaotic battle."
Ultimately, only one team can win in each venue.
This sounds somewhat like raising Gu poison, where only the strongest Gu king can survive.
"Then comes the points-based competition. Winning teams get one point, losing teams lose two points, and draws don't deduct points. The final rankings are based on the points!"
The first two competition formats sounded as easy as picking something out of a bag, but Mir discovered a problem.
"After the points ranking, won't the outcome be obvious?" Her cute and lively little face was full of doubt, like a bewildered little deer.
"Not so. There are many variables in the knockout stage, and many excellent teams may be eliminated in the knockout stage." Wu Heyi provided an insightful and easy-to-understand analysis from the perspective of an adult before time travel.
"Not all teams are like docile sheep; there will always be some unruly individuals. In the maze, once internal conflicts arise within a team, those individuals are likely to part ways and fight their own battles!"
"In this way, the team that finally reaches the center of the maze will inevitably be incomplete. The incomplete team will either be completely wiped out or be temporarily put together to eliminate the complete team."
"Among those who are ultimately eliminated, there will inevitably be some who are resentful. Our academy's game rules are like a timely help, giving these eliminated teams a chance to challenge the winning teams in the points competition."
“But, this…” Mi’er hesitated, as if she had a fishbone stuck in her throat.
"Are you trying to say that it seems fair, but it doesn't feel like a competition; it's more like an exam?" Wu Heyi, like a skilled butcher dissecting an ox, pinpointed the indescribable sense of unease in Mi'er's heart.
“Yes, it’s like giving someone who failed an exam a chance to retake it.” After hearing Wu Heyi’s words, Mi’er felt enlightened and immediately poured out the question that had been bothering her.
"You're absolutely right. This isn't some ridiculous friendly exchange match; it's an entrance exam!"
Wu Heyi suddenly put down the documents in his hand and immediately realized what was going on.
The Empire orchestrated this to identify talented students who had been overlooked in the general population. Wu Heyi quickly reviewed the information and soon found the name of Notting Junior Soul Master Academy.
But as he scrolled down further, Wu Heyi frowned.
"What's wrong with you, He Yi!"
Wu Heyi tensed up immediately, staring incredulously at the contestants' information.
"The people sent by Notting Junior Soul Master Academy to participate in the competition are not Tang San and Xiao Wu!"
Wu Heyi muttered to himself.
"This is impossible. Is there something wrong? Logically speaking, Tang San and Xiao Wu should be in the same year as me, and their cultivation should have broken through to the Great Soul Master level. How could their academy send three level 19 kids to fight!"
Wu Heyi was unaware that the key to the problem was the calendar he saw when he awakened his martial soul in the village. He had always thought that he and Tang San were children who awakened their martial souls in the same batch, but in reality, since the villagers were all orphans, no one read the calendar to remember the days, so the village had always used the old calendar.
If you calculate the time carefully, Tang San and Xiao Wu are probably already on their way to Shrek Academy.
