Chapter 370: A Fight Among the Gods

Chapter 370: A Fight Among the Gods

---

"Huff. Huff."

The Blood God Lucard was out of breath. His chest rose and fell heavily, and every breath sounded like a broken beast trying to stay alive. His chaos energy was almost gone. That was something many gods would never believe even if they saw it with their own eyes. Lucard was the Father of Blood. He was one of the strongest gods in the god world called Null. His power came from blood, and as long as blood existed, he could fight, kill, heal, and rise again. But today, even the Father of Blood was being pushed to the edge.

Null was the land of gods. It existed above the multiverse, and beneath it, countless universes floated like tiny marbles. Each one of those universes had stars, worlds, mortals, beasts, kingdoms, oceans, and wars, but from Null, they looked very small. The gods had lived in Null since the beginning of time. Some were born from chaos, some were born from laws, some came from nothing, and some were created by other powerful beings. They always fought for supremacy, territory, divine authority, worship, pride, and treasures. But today’s fight was not a normal fight between gods.

Today, an Abyss class artifact had dropped from the sky.

It was not just a weapon or a treasure. It was a system class artifact, and all gods needed it if they wanted to enter the Abyss. Without it, no god could go to the Abyss Tower, complete the trial, and enter the world of the Abyss. No god truly knew what was inside the Abyss. Some believed there was a power higher than gods. Some believed there was a throne above Null. Some believed the Abyss was where the first truth of creation was hidden. Because of that, every god wanted the artifact, and because every god wanted it, blood had already filled the divine land.

Lucard had taken the artifact first.

That was why the others came for him.

The Blood God was very strong. He was ranked among the top five strongest gods in Null, and among millions of gods, that meant his power was beyond imagination. Nunet was also ranked among the top five. If it had been only Lucard and Nunet fighting, their battle could have lasted for billions of years without either of them easily running out of chaos energy. Their powers were too strong, too old, and too equal. But the problem was that Lucard was not fighting only one god today. He was fighting ten gods at once.

One of them was already dead.

The Fire God had been the first to die.

Lucard had used his ultimate move, Crimson Particle Rupture, against him. This blood skill did not only cut flesh or burn the body. It destroyed the divine particles that formed a god’s chaos body. If a god was caught inside it and could not escape, death was almost certain. But the cost was terrifying. Every use consumed fifty percent of Lucard’s full chaos energy. Even for him, it was not a skill he could throw around like a normal attack.

When Lucard used it for the first time in today’s battle, a huge ball of blood formed in front of him. The blood was so red that even the sky of Null looked pale beside it. Around the blood ball, a thunder like shock wave spread outward. Whatever the shock wave touched was erased. The divine land around the blood ball became nothing the moment the skill activated. It was not broken. It was not burned. It became Nothing. It was as if that part of the land had never existed.

Lucard threw the blood ball at the Fire God.

The Fire God tried to defend. His body burned like a sun, and he created layers of divine flame around himself. He shouted that blood could never swallow fire. He was wrong. The blood ball caught his entire body and trapped him inside it. His chaos body started to dissolve. His divine particles began to vanish one after another. His flames screamed, twisted, and broke apart. Within ten seconds, his entire body disappeared from Null.

The Fire God died.

The moment the Fire God started dying, the remaining eight gods and Nunet attacked Lucard together. They did not give him time to breathe. They did not give him time to recover. Gods could be proud, arrogant, and cruel, but they were not fools. They knew if Lucard was allowed to continue, one by one, all of them could die.

The Earth God created a meteoroid the size of a universe and hurled it toward Lucard. The Air Goddess created a cosmic level twister that could tear stars into dust. The Sword God released a sword slash that could cut an entire universe in half. The Thunder God covered the sky with black lightning. The Bone Goddess summoned giant bone hands from the ground. The Plague Mother released a green mist that could rot immortal flesh. The Spear Lord sent millions of golden spears forward, and the Moon Devourer released a cold silver light that swallowed everything it touched.

The last attack came from Nunet, and it was the most powerful one.

She raised her hand, and black water rose behind her. That water was larger than any universe. It was dark, heavy, and ancient. It was not normal water. It was the primordial dark water from before creation. It moved like an endless ocean and swallowed the other eight attacks inside it, carrying them forward with its own power. The meteoroid, the twister, the sword slash, the lightning, the bone hands, the plague mist, the spears, and the moon devouring light were all hidden inside Nunet’s black water.

It was coming toward Lucard.

If it landed on him, he would definitely die.

Lucard understood his situation in an instant. He had only one attack worth of chaos energy left. If he used Crimson Particle Rupture again, he might defend himself, but after that, his fighting ability would be gone. He could not simply block the attack and stand there empty. He had to block it and also make his attack land on the gods. Only then could he survive. But his remaining chaos energy was not enough to make an attack that big.

He had only one choice left.

If he gave up his divinity and his immortal powers, he could create an attack powerful enough to kill everyone. It was a stupid choice. It was a mad choice. It was the kind of choice only a god who refused to kneel would make. Without divinity, he would lose his status as a true god. Without his immortal power, his body would no longer recover like before. But if he did not do it, Nunet would take the artifact, and he would die anyway.

Lucard looked at the black water coming toward him, then he looked at the gods hiding behind it.

"Fuck it. I will do it."

After making the decision, Lucard placed all his remaining chaos energy, his divinity, and his immortal powers into his final ultimate attack. His whole body cracked as the power left him. Blood came out from his skin, his mouth, his eyes, and the wounds covering his body. That blood did not fall to the ground. It gathered in front of him and formed another blood ball, larger and more terrifying than the first one.

Now it was blood against dark water.

What would happen? Who would win in the end? That question seemed to ring across the battlefield. Many gods were watching the fight from afar, but none of them knew the answer. Some wanted Lucard to die. Some wanted Nunet to die. Some wanted both of them to die so they could take the artifact later. Gods were like that. Even while watching a battle that could destroy them, they still had greedy thoughts.

The blood ball and the dark water collided.

The first shock wave was so huge that the entire Null trembled. Null was above the multiverse, and its land was flat and endless. Beneath it, each universe looked like a marble, small and fragile. Yet this collision made the whole divine land shake. The shock wave spread in every direction, sending many watching gods flying backward. Some crashed into broken mountains. Some rolled across the divine ground like thrown stones. One fat god who had come only to watch and eat divine fruits lost both his fruit basket and his dignity at the same time, which was probably more painful for him than the shock wave.

A huge cloud of dust rose over the battlefield. Broken divine stone, destroyed law fragments, blood mist, and black water vapor covered everything. For a few seconds, nobody could see what happened inside. Slowly, the dust began to thin, and the battlefield appeared again.

Lucard was still standing.

Nunet was still standing.

Between them, the blood ball and the dark water were pressing against each other. The attacks hidden inside the dark water kept striking Lucard’s blood ball from within. Every time they struck, Lucard’s body shook. His bones cracked. His skin split wider. More blood came from his mouth, but he did not step back.

"You cannot defeat me," Nunet said. Her voice was cold and calm, like a deep ocean with dead things sleeping under it. "Give up and give me the Abyss class artifact."

Lucard’s lips were covered in blood, but he still smiled. "If I cannot have it, then you cannot have it either. I will make sure to kill all of you here."

The other eight gods reacted at once. The Spear Lord laughed at him and said that he could barely stand. The Air Goddess mocked him, saying even the great Blood God had finally become a wounded dog. The Bone Goddess spat on the ground and said, "You are nothing in front of us together." The Moon Devourer opened his mouth too wide and laughed like he had already won. Even the Earth God looked at Lucard as if he was only a stone waiting to be crushed.

Lucard did not respond to them. He was too busy controlling his ultimate attack. His entire focus was on the blood ball. Slowly, very slowly, his blood ball began to take over Nunet’s dark water. One by one, the attacks of the other eight gods started vanishing inside the black water. The plague mist disappeared first, then the golden spears, then the black lightning, then the bone hands, then the cosmic twister, then the universe sized meteoroid, then the sword slash, and finally the silver light of the Moon Devourer. Every time one attack vanished, Lucard’s blood ball became bigger.

Nunet’s expression changed.

For the first time, she no longer looked completely calm.

The dark water was also vanishing little by little. Lucard’s blood was eating it. His body looked like it was about to fall apart, but his will did not weaken. He kept pushing. The blood ball grew larger and larger, until finally, it completely destroyed all the attacks inside the dark water.

Then the blood ball was about to explode.

Lucard used the last strength in his broken body and threw it toward the nine gods.

The eight gods were caught in the middle. They had been too arrogant. They had believed Nunet’s dark water would protect them. They had believed Lucard was finished. Only Nunet reacted fast enough. Her body turned into black water, and she moved away from the center of the attack. But even she could not fully escape. She reached the edge, but the edge of Lucard’s attack still touched her.

The blood ball exploded.

The eight gods in the middle died.

Their chaos bodies dissolved almost instantly. Their divine particles broke apart. Their laws shattered. The Earth God’s body became dust. The Air Goddess was torn apart by her own broken wind. The Sword God’s slash vanished, and then his body followed it. The Bone Goddess, the Thunder God, the Plague Mother, the Spear Lord, and the Moon Devourer all disappeared inside the red explosion.

Eight gods were killed in one attack.

Nunet survived, but she was injured. One side of her body was damaged, and her dark water form was no longer smooth. Black water dripped from her like blood, and red cracks burned across the parts of her body touched by Lucard’s power. But her injuries were not enough to stop her. She could still fight.

Lucard had nothing left.

He had given everything. His chaos energy was gone. His divinity was gone. His immortal power was gone. His body was cracked all over. His breath was heavy, and each breath made more blood spill from his mouth. He looked at Nunet and understood the truth immediately.

He was going to die here. But even if he died, he could not let Nunet have the artifact.
