Dragon Raja: The Divine Man Lu Mingfei

Chapter 23 You are a Container

Chapter 23 You are a Container

"No, you didn't believe me at all! You knew I was just guessing!"

Looking at Lu Mingfei's submissive demeanor, Nuonuo felt a strange sensation rising within her. Although they had only known each other for a short time, just one night, she believed she understood Lu Mingfei's personality quite well. This guy seemed listless, but he was actually full of tricks up his sleeve. How could he possibly admit defeat so easily?

Lu Mingfei was genuinely taken aback by her question, inwardly marveling at how accurate the girl's intuition was. He had originally thought his acting was flawless, and dealing with Nuonuo would be a piece of cake, but unexpectedly, she had turned the tables on him, which made Lu Mingfei look at her with new respect.

Actually, Nono was just bluffing him. After all, she had failed every time she tried to profile Lu Mingfei, so she wasn't sure if she was going to succeed. But seeing Lu Mingfei's momentary surprise, she immediately knew—she had guessed right! This guy hadn't believed her at all; he had been playing along with her act from beginning to end.

Thinking about it this way, Nono came to a new conclusion: Lu Mingfei must know why her profiling ability was useless to him, and he might even know more secrets about her background.

"I know what you want to ask, but don't rush me. I'll order breakfast, and we can talk while we eat." As he spoke, Lu Mingfei picked up the landline on the bedside table and asked someone to bring breakfast over.

"Hmm? You agreed so easily, are you hiding something?" Nono became even more wary. This guy was playing games with her just a second ago, how come he suddenly changed his tune?

Lu Mingfei put down the landline receiver and looked at her with an expression as if she were an idiot: "I don't think I ever said I wouldn't tell you, did I? Besides, this matter is closely related to you, so you naturally have the right to know the truth."

"Then why didn't you answer when I asked you last night?" Nono immediately seized on the key point and questioned.

"Did you ask?" Lu Mingfei asked innocently.

"Didn't I ask?" Nono instinctively retorted, but the words caught in her throat. Thinking back carefully, she realized that last night she had indeed only asked Lu Mingfei to "tell her the truth," but she didn't seem to have clearly specified what truth she was asking for…

Nuonuo's face flushed instantly. Proud as she was, how could she possibly admit it was her mistake? Especially considering that this mistake indirectly led to Lu Mingfei taking her virginity last night, she was even less likely to back down. So, she stiffened her neck and said defiantly, "Of course I asked! You just didn't understand!"

"Okay, okay, you're right, I'll go along with you." Lu Mingfei replied casually as he walked into the washroom to start washing up.

Five minutes later, Lu Mingfei finished washing up and walked out of the bathroom while drying his hair with a towel. He looked up and saw Nuonuo still leaning against the headboard, holding her phone and tapping and drawing on the screen with a focused expression.

"Go wash up quickly, breakfast should be here soon," Lu Mingfei reminded him.

Upon hearing this, Nuonuo didn't even look up, but just pouted, her tone slightly impatient: "Are you my dad? Why are you being so fussy?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Mingfei suddenly laughed: "I really am your father. Weren't you calling me that so enthusiastically last night? How come you're turning your back on me now?"

Nono rolled her eyes, too lazy to argue with Lu Mingfei, put down her phone and went straight into the bathroom.

When Nono finished washing up and came out of the bathroom, drying her wet hair with a towel, she paused. The suite's dining table was piled high with all sorts of food, making her eyes widen in disbelief. She couldn't help but exclaim, "Are you a pig? How can you possibly finish all this?"

Lu Mingfei was taking a bite of a xiaolongbao when he heard this and mumbled, "I didn't eat dinner last night, so I need to make up for it today." He said it with a straight face and no embarrassment at all, as if ordering a table full of dishes was the most normal thing in the world.

"Okay, whatever you want, it's not my money anyway." After a moment of surprise, Nono regained her composure, sat down at the table, picked up a plate with bacon and eggs, and began to eat her breakfast.

Lu Mingfei ate so fast that Nuonuo was astonished. She had just slowly taken a sip of soy milk when she looked up and saw that Lu Mingfei had already devoured a basket of steamed buns and two fried dough sticks. He was now using a fork to pick up a piece of pancake and put it into his mouth, his movements fluid and without the slightest pause.

Nono stared, stunned. Instinctively, she reached out and gently pressed Lu Mingfei's lower abdomen. It was still flat and firm, exactly the same as when they were entangled last night—no indication that he had just eaten so much. She frowned, unable to help but wonder if this guy had a black hole in his stomach. How could his stomach not change at all after eating so much? Had it all been sucked in by a black hole?

The two quickly finished breakfast, erasing all the food on the table. Nuonuo put down her chopsticks, remaining silent as she sat quietly in her chair, her gaze fixed on Lu Mingfei with a mixture of expectation and doubt.

Lu Mingfei was clearing the tableware when he noticed Nuonuo's gaze. He turned his head and met her eyes. Her eyes were clear and bright, like a bottomless lake, making it impossible to guess what she was thinking.

For a moment, the two stared at each other, a subtle silence filling the air. Sunlight streamed through the window, bathing them in a golden glow.

"Say something! Didn't you say you'd tell me the truth after dinner?" Nono broke the silence first, her voice carrying a hint of barely perceptible tension.

Lu Mingfei paused for a moment, then laughed: "Oh, so that's why you were staring at me."

Nono frowned, a hint of displeasure in her voice: "Otherwise, what do you think I want to do?"

Looking at her furrowed brows, Lu Mingfei deliberately gave her an ambiguous smile: "I thought you were up to something again since you weren't saying anything."

Nuonuo understood Lu Mingfei's meaning almost instantly. She nudged him with her elbow and said, "I'm talking to you about serious matters, don't bring up other things."

"Okay, okay, I'll tell you, I'll tell you." Lu Mingfei raised his hands in surrender, then after thinking for a moment, he cleared his throat and continued, "From what I've observed, you're actually a cyborg..."

"You've said this several times already. What I want to ask is, who created me and why? Also, have they left any hidden tricks in my body, like being hypnotized by hearing certain keywords?" Nono interrupted Lu Mingfei's repetition with dissatisfaction and directly asked the key questions.

"We can ask who created you," Lu Mingfei said, casually scooping up the Chen family patriarch from the void and tossing him to the ground like trash. He turned to Nuonuo, his tone as relaxed as if he were discussing the weather: "The effects of the void on him will last a while, like taking a piece of frozen meat out of the freezer; it has to thaw. In the meantime, let me tell you what you were created for."

"In my experience, you are actually a perfect filter," Lu Mingfei said slowly.

"Filter? What does that mean?" Nono asked, puzzled.

"Simply put, someone wants to steal Nidhogg's authority, but its power is too chaotic and domineering. Even the White Emperor, created by Nidhogg himself, cannot contain all its power without damage, let alone other ants. Even the first generation of Nidhogg would only face death if they dared to directly touch Nidhogg's authority. But there is always a way out. Some ambitious people have come up with a special way—" At this point, Lu Mingfei deliberately paused, picked up his water glass and took a sip, clearly trying to whet Nuonuo's appetite.

Instead of pressing him for answers as he had expected, Nono simply looked at him quietly, her eyes filled with a hint of inquiry.

Lu Mingfei glanced at Nuonuo, muttered something about how boring it was, and then continued:

"This is a technique used to attempt to steal the Black King's power: ambitious individuals first cultivate a special vessel capable of bearing his power, using Nidhogg's bloodline as a foundation. Once the vessel is mature, they forcibly inject the Black King's bloodline into it, initiating a brutal fusion process."

The Nidhogg bloodline is inherently imbued with a destructive ferocity and an overbearing arrogance. When a vessel merges with it, it must not only neutralize this violence with its own inherent qualities but also endure the extreme pain of the bloodline burning the soul. In order to survive, the vessel's instinctive will will engage in a relentless battle with the remaining Black King consciousness within the bloodline—precisely the scenario that ambitious individuals desire.

They will monitor the container's will strength throughout the process and precisely control the amount of blood injected, ensuring that both the container's will and the Black King's remaining will perish together in this fierce internal struggle.

When the two wills completely dissipated, only the pure Black King bloodline, stripped of its consciousness, remained within the container. At this point, ambitious individuals only needed to extract this bloodline from the container and absorb it entirely into themselves to steal Nidhogg's authority and ascend to become the new Black King in one fell swoop.

Lu Mingfei paused again before looking into Nuonuo's eyes and saying, word by word:

"And you, Nono, you are the vessel that was cultivated."
