Chapter 35 Morning Exercise: Surprisingly Wonderful
Chapter 35 Morning Exercise: Surprisingly Wonderful
What upset the little witch even more wasn't the two fools' lack of mobility, but the realization that the gap between herself and Owen seemed to have widened again. During the holidays, her parents and she went on a trip. Although she did read books, she had even less time to read and couldn't even practice spells, unlike the convenience she had at Hogwarts.
Yes, she was first in her grade, but that was without Owen taking the exam. Besides, Owen was the author of the newly compiled Notebooks on the History of Magic...
Although she had tried to convince herself not to compare herself to Owen, the little witch's pride exploded at the thought that Owen, who was the same age as her, was so far ahead of her just because he had been exposed to magic for three years earlier!
If Kyrie Irving can do it, why can't I?
It's just learning and practicing, right? Kyrie Irving can do it, so can I!
The next morning, the little witch woke up early and happened to run into the young wizard who was getting ready to go for his morning run: "Mr. Owen, may I train with you?"
"sure!"
Owen welcomed every young wizard who could voluntarily join his morning exercise routine. He even taught the little witches what breathing rhythm to use during long-distance running, and how to use this breathing rhythm to mobilize the magic power within their bodies and make it grow rapidly.
When she was about halfway there, the little witch noticed a group of Slytherins also jogging. As they passed by, the Slytherins greeted Owen very warmly, and when they saw her, they all gave her admiring looks.
The little witch wanted to ask, but she couldn't disrupt her breathing rhythm during the long run, so she could only communicate with the little wizard through her eyes.
Fortunately, Owen understood: "Getting up early to go for a run was something I started first. When I was rotating through the four houses, the other three houses also did it for a while, but unfortunately, apart from Slytherin, the other houses didn't stick with it."
The little witch's eyes changed!
"Do you think that all a wizard needs is magic, and not a good body?" Owen chuckled at the little witch beside him. "You'll see after we finish running."
Today is the 10th, the first dueling class of the month. The teacher is Owen, and as for the students... there are no rules, but all the Slytherin students are here, and now Hermione has joined them.
Standing at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, watching the young wizards who had been waiting for a while, Owen didn't say much. With a wave of his wand, a circular grandstand rose up from the ground, and the young wizards quickly chose good seats and sat down.
Hermione sat down as well, but as she touched the wooden seat, she felt uneasy. This was Transfiguration, and a silent spell at that. Owen... was he almost on par with the professors?
"Today, Hermione joined the morning practice. She wants to know why wizards need to be healthy. So let's explain it through a duel. Mr. Rozier, please join me in a no-rules duel."
A student from the seventh-grade group stepped forward, gracefully descended from the stands, and stood opposite Owen. He then raised his wand in a salute, and the instant the wand fell, Rozier unleashed his spell: "Expelliarmus!"
As the spell flew halfway, an earthen wall rose in front of Owen, who then jumped to the top of it and cast a Defeat spell. However, Rozier dodged it and cast two more spells as Owen ran. At that moment, the first spell struck the earthen wall, shattering it, and Owen fell freely, narrowly avoiding the other two spells.
The duel, such a wonderful duel, was displayed before the eyes of all the young wizards. It wasn't the first time the Slytherin wizards had seen one, but they were still quite excited. However, Hermione was seeing a wizard duel for the first time, and she was so excited that her face turned red.
It was the first time she had ever seen that magic could be cast while running, and that the rise and fall of the body and the swinging of the arms could be used to complete the pre-casting animation of a spell.
Owen, on the other hand, has not left his spot since the beginning, while the seventh-grader has not stopped at all.
If it were me...
It seems they've already lost.
With the fight intentionally going easy on him, the duel lasted for twenty minutes. When Rozier, a seventh-grader, couldn't run anymore, the duel naturally ended.
Owen waved his wand again, the stands disappeared, and the young wizards landed on the ground. Owen smiled at them and said, "Mr. Rozier has made great progress. As long as he masters a few more powerful spells, becoming an Auror will be no problem at all."
applaud!
In Slytherin, Owen's prestige among the students was even higher than Snape's. Of course, this was mainly because Professor Snape had no interest in establishing any prestige among the students and was happy to see Owen able to control Slytherin.
The next period was spell practice. While the first and second graders had to stand still, recite spells, and practice casting gestures by waving their wands, the wizards in the third grade and above practiced casting spells while moving. What they had to do was to skillfully control their bodies and use the fluctuations of their bodies to simplify their casting gestures.
Hermione originally wanted to practice with the first and second year students, but Owen pulled her aside: "You're already very proficient with spells and casting gestures. Now, practice with the third-year students."
Just as Hermione was about to say something, Owen placed his hand on her head and ruffled it a few times: "Be good, go ahead."
The little witch walked away blushing, while Owen let out a long sigh.
Everyone talks about using a point to influence the whole, but this method is completely useless in Hogwarts; it just won't work!
Slytherin was able to hold on because Owen activated their "pride," but what about the other houses? They weren't affected at all.
Hermione, however, was provoked because she encountered Draco in the third-year group. He often mocked Harry and Ron, which made Hermione dislike him. But now it seemed Draco was quite capable, at least…
Thinking of Harry and Ron, the little witch let out a long sigh.
At breakfast, Hermione recounted everything she had seen that morning, word for word. Ron listened with a disdainful look: "Them? Humph, no amount of training will help!"
Harry was a little worried, but he suddenly realized that Hermione had no intention of arguing with Ron at all. She didn't even glance at him and continued eating, and her appetite seemed to be much larger than before.
Hermione's indifference was misinterpreted by Ron as weakness, which made him even more smug: "Hmph, see? Even Miss Know-It-All has nothing to say."
Hermione couldn't stand this. She was full, so she gently wiped her mouth and gave Ron a disdainful look: "Owen's right, you're stubbornly stupid and completely brainless!"
After saying that, she turned and left. She had gained a lot from today's morning exercise, so she was determined to keep going!
The little witch was never lacking in perseverance; she just didn't use it in the right way.
