Chapter 38 Donkey
Chapter 38 Donkey
Lynn put down his sword and punched Thomas in the stomach.
Thomas's body was bent over like a shrimp, his face contorted in pain.
He lay down directly on the ground.
Thomas clutched his stomach with one hand and raised the other in surrender.
"Stop, stop! Brother, dear brother, I'm truly innocent! Although I have indeed done a lot of kidnapping, I really don't have the guts to kidnap your sister! Didn't I say before that I wanted to marry her properly?! I really don't know anything!"
Lynn frowned as he stared at Thomas rolling around on the ground, his face covered in snot and tears, and realized that he was indeed not lying.
But if it wasn't Thomas, then who was it?
Seeing that Lynn had calmed down, Thomas grimaced and leaned against the wall to stand up.
He patted his chest.
"Brother-in-law, don't look at me..."
As soon as Thomas uttered those words, a murderous aura emanated from him.
He quickly corrected himself, saying, "Brother, dear brother, please tell me what's going on. Maybe I can help. After all, I'm a prospective priest now!"
Lynn squinted and repeated his aunt's exact words to him.
Thomas was shocked.
"I didn't hear about this mission today. If there had been, I would have signed up long ago..."
Lynn stared at him coldly.
Thomas broke out in a cold sweat and managed a forced laugh.
"Hey, wait a minute, I'm going back to the temple to ask about the situation."
Lynn let him go, moved to another location, and hid himself.
That way, even if Thomas lies, he can escape immediately.
After a while, Thomas hurriedly returned, with no one behind him.
Lynn patted him on the shoulder from behind.
Thomas screamed in fright.
"My dear brother, you look like a ghost! No, where did you just crawl out from?"
Thomas looked around suspiciously.
Lynn ignored this clown and asked directly, "Tell me the information you've gathered."
Thomas's expression turned somewhat unpleasant when this was mentioned.
"Tina is indeed locked up in the temple. I asked the high priest why, but he didn't tell me anything. He wouldn't let me in to ask her questions."
Lynn's face darkened.
"It really was the church that did it! I'm going to find Brown right now to get justice!"
"Hey, wait a minute, I haven't finished speaking yet!"
Thomas managed to pull Lynn back in time.
He cautiously surveyed his empty surroundings and whispered, "Although the High Priest didn't say anything to me, the friend who went to the brothel with me last night...and drank with me told me that this doesn't seem to be the High Priest's intention, but rather...but rather..."
At this point, Thomas hesitated somewhat.
Lynn frowned and said, "Speak quickly, there's no one here, what are you afraid of?"
Thomas felt a little guilty.
"Then I'll tell you, but you can't say that I told you."
Lynn nodded impatiently.
"Okay, speak!"
"Then, then I'll say it... it's... it's Baron Nareel's idea."
Upon hearing the answer, Lynn remained silent for a moment.
Countless details from the past few days replayed in his mind.
From secretly drinking the potion to meeting Violet, and then going out of town to do a quest...
Lynn was certain that no one had seen her secret.
But why did Brown target Tina?
There must have been something I did wrong for Brown to take the initiative.
So... it seems there's only one possibility left...
Turner Sr.
"Let's call it even. I've never seen you before."
Lynn turned and left with a heavy heart.
Thomas breathed a sigh of relief and called out from behind, "Brother-in-law! Don't worry, I'll keep you informed of whatever Tina is doing inside!"
Lynn stopped in his tracks, which startled Thomas.
"No, I was wrong, I just blurted it out!"
Lynn turned around and looked at his smug face, and said in a deep voice, "Thomas, I owe you a favor."
After saying that, Lynn disappeared into the alley.
Thomas was left only scratching his head in a daze.
......
Outside the castle.
As soon as Lynn appeared, the guards led him into the castle.
Several days later, Lynn met Brown Narell again.
He remained as cunning and treacherous as a hyena.
Brown stood up with a smile and opened his arms.
"Look, who's here? My friend, Lynn! What brings you here?"
Lynn lowered his head and said in a deep voice, "I am apologizing to you, Your Excellency."
Brown feigned surprise.
"Lynn, what did you do wrong? I didn't know anything about it!"
Lynn looked up, staring straight into Brown's mocking eyes, and clenched her fists.
"I created a medium-three-star potion, but at the last moment I accidentally lost control, causing a successful potion to be wasted."
Brown remained silent, staring at Lynn's face for a long time.
"Waste is inevitable, Lynn, you did nothing wrong."
Lynn took a deep breath and knelt down on one knee.
"My lord, please release my sister! From now on, I will correct any mistakes I make that displease you, and I will completely obey your orders!"
Seeing Lynn's reaction, Brown finally laughed, and his laughter grew louder and louder.
In the end, it was absolutely hilarious.
"Lynn! That's great, Lynn! I see it! I finally see what I've been looking for in your eyes!"
Brown was very excited.
He seemed to see the Narell family about to return to its peak under his control.
With his wisdom, Nareel will rule this land forever!
"Lynn, you are indeed very perceptive. Although this matter may just be a misunderstanding, I greatly admire your attitude. You may leave now."
Brown sat back comfortably on his throne and waved to Lynn.
"Sir, can my sister be released now?"
Lynn felt a little anxious.
Brown slowly shook his head.
"No, Lynn, your sister must remain in the temple."
Lynn was taken aback.
"Sir, why are you doing this?"
Nareel clasped his hands together and smiled faintly.
"Lynn, you'd better not ask too many questions."
"...You won't let Tina drink those strange things from the church, will you?"
"That's not necessarily true."
"So you'll at least guarantee Tina's safety, right?"
"That depends on your performance."
"...Okay, I understand."
Lynn stood up, bowed, and turned to walk out.
Brown didn't stop him.
However, a carriage was already waiting for him outside the door.
The cart was loaded with packets of medicinal herbs used for alchemy.
A guard stepped forward.
"Lord Lynn, these are the medicinal herbs that the Baron has bestowed upon you."
Lynn glanced at the materials and recognized them.
They are all materials for dark-type potions.
A big stick and a carrot...?
Lynn took a deep breath and finally made up her mind.
Since Brown Nerrell has already treated him like a donkey that can be manipulated at will.
Then he'd show him who would be the dead donkey groaning on the ground in the end.
Sitting in the carriage.
Lynn clenched his fists as he gazed at the peaceful scene in the city.
"Brown Narell, why did you have to hurt my family...?"
"All of this... was forced upon me by you."
