"Arriving five minutes early is the most basic courtesy."
Yukinoshita said it very naturally, and Yuihama nodded in agreement.
"Yes, that's right, Yukino arrived very early. I thought I had set off early, but I still couldn't keep up with her."
"...I don't want to take a tram that's packed with people."
Yukino turned her face to the side, her long, jet-black hair swaying in the breeze against the backdrop of her white coat.
I could clearly tell that she was really looking forward to today's trip to Disneyland...
In summary, three people have arrived so far.
"So, only one color remains."
"Oh, Iroha is over there."
Yuihama pointed to the convenience store inside the station, and Isshiki walked out of it, followed by another person—Hayama Hayato.
...Just as I thought. If the person she's looking for isn't Hayama, then she's not Isshiki Iroha. That person will probably go to Hayama and whine and pester him, using every possible method to get him to come out.
So, are the five of us going together today...?
Just as I was thinking that, I saw Miura walk out of the convenience store again, followed by Tobe and Ebina.
I rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
Yuihama and Yukinoshita ← can be understood
Isshiki and Hayama ← Okay, I can understand.
Miura, Hobu, Ebina ← What?
What's going on? This is completely unexpected...
"Wait a minute, why are those people here too?"
I turned my head back and demanded an explanation. Yukinoshita also shifted her gaze to Yuihama, whose shoulders trembled slightly.
“This…”
She looked away and fiddled with the pom-pom that replaced the bun on her head.
"Because...we originally planned to go out and have fun too...and besides, I can't just focus on Iroha! It's tough being in the middle too!"
Seeing her so troubled, Yukino couldn't help but sigh softly.
Even I wanted to sigh, but before that, there was something important I had to make clear. Looking at Yuihama, who was agonizingly troubled, I told her:
"Don't bring so many people on your own initiative. Can you take care of them?"
"Y-Yes, that's fine!"
Yuihama suddenly looked up to answer, and Yukinoshita also spoke up:
"That's fine, we can each do our own thing anyway."
"Xiao Yukino..."
Yuigahama looked at Yukinoshita with emotion. But aren't you mistaken? She only said "it has nothing to do with me"...
"Maybe..."
As we were talking, something else came to mind. I should probably remind her of this as well.
"And you... don't take on unnecessary burdens and only think about others."
"Ah, um... I... I know."
She lowered her head, a shadow falling over her face.
We are not mature enough to interfere in other people's affairs. In doing so, we will only make a lot of mistakes. Therefore, I think we should make this point clear.
Yuihama remained staring at the ground, scratching her knitted hat in thought. I could tell from her expression that she understood.
"...Alright, since they're already here, we might as well ask them to help with the research and photography."
That being said, I didn't have high hopes for them. But at least Yuihama raised her head.
"Hmm, that's true..."
She forced a smile, and Yukinoshita, seeing this, ran her fingers through her hair, smiled, and said to her:
"If you're going to gather material, it's best to decide on a general route first."
Upon hearing this, Yuihama immediately smiled.
"Ah, that's right! What's the first game we should play?"
"Hmm... that one."
I looked at the Keiyo Line tram pulling into the station.
"Train? You've only just arrived and you already want to go back?"
That concludes our rambling. We'll meet up with Isshiki and the others soon.
Good morning, senior!
"oh."
After I gave a brief response, Hayama, who was standing next to her, also greeted me with a gentle smile.
"……Hi."
"oh……"
Although the conversation ended in an instant, the exchange of glances was enough to fill the void. I stared at Hayama's smile, trying to discern what lay hidden within, while Hayama stared back, as if trying to see something.
Suddenly, a chill ran down my spine.
There was a murderous aura! No, could it be a rotten aura? In short, there was an eerie atmosphere. I turned my head and saw Ebina's mouth open, laughing so hard that drool was almost dripping from her mouth. However, as soon as her eyes met mine, she immediately withdrew her rotten aura and waved cheerfully at me.
"Hello hello~"
"Huh? Why is the recluse here too?"
Miura peeked out from behind Ebina and looked over, saying something. Kebu, who was standing nearby, immediately burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! This autistic kid is hilarious! He was clearly comparing himself to a penguin—"
I feel like neither of them is right...
"Now that everyone's here, let's go!"
After looking around at everyone, Isshiki announced, "Let's head to Disneyland together."
First, join the queue at the ticket office, exchange your ticket voucher for a pass, and then enter the park with your pass.
As the group walked to what resembled a plaza, they couldn't help but marvel at the sight before them.
Looking towards the square from the main entrance, a tall Christmas tree stands there, adorned with colorful lights; rows of Western-style buildings line the central avenue, with the famous pink and white castle at the far end.
The entire park was decorated with a Christmas atmosphere, making me feel as if I were in a Christmas movie scene. Several movies suddenly popped into my head, but for some reason, the first one that came to mind was "Home Alone 2." It's so strange, I've seen so many movies before...
One of the purposes of this trip was to gather material, so I took out my digital camera from my winter jacket and snapped a few photos.
At the same time, the girls screamed excitedly, eagerly joining the line to take photos with the giant Christmas tree. Yukino hesitated for a moment, then joined the queue, standing next to Yui. She seemed a little unaccustomed to it. As for the boys, because of Hayama, I naturally had no choice but to obediently wait in line with them.
The girls were already noisy enough, but the Ministry of Revenue was even noisier. He stood behind the girls, constantly shouting at the Christmas tree.
"Wow—it's huge—I'm so excited!"
Ye Shan looked at him with a wry smile.
After a while, it was finally our turn. Park staff were there to help take photos, so I didn't need to do it myself.
After everyone took a group photo, the girls took one together, Hayama, Miura, and Isshiki took another, and Yukinoshita and Yui took a third. The various changes reminded me of permutations and combinations in mathematics.
After taking enough photos, it was finally time to move on to the next location. Just then, Yui approached, holding her phone in one hand.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!"
The snow-covered woman beside her seemed to have exhausted herself just from taking photos, letting out a heavy sigh. What? Had her soul truly been sucked away by the camera?
Yui grabbed Yukinoshita's hand and then pulled on my scarf, causing me to stumble. Her face was very close. Yukinoshita, on the other side, looked just as caught off guard as I did.
The next moment, I heard two camera shutter sounds, one from Hihama's phone and the other from Ebina standing in the distance.
"Yui—I got the picture—"
"Okay, thank you—"
Yuihama took Ebina's digital camera and pressed the button to confirm the photo.
"...Yuigahama-san."
"No taking photos without permission..."
Yukinoshita and I both voiced our condemnation, with Yukinoshita even appearing somewhat displeased, her eyebrows raised. Yuihama herself, however, remained nonchalant, saying:
"If I had spoken first, you wouldn't have agreed."
"It doesn't matter to me."
To be honest, I'd prefer she told me beforehand so I could be mentally prepared; the photos might turn out better that way. Right now, I'm worried I might have blushed in that photo.
"...That doesn't mean you can take pictures of other people without permission."
Yukino sighed, and Yuihama realized she had done wrong, showing a guilty expression.
"I'm sorry, I'll definitely say so first next time."
"...There will be no next time."
A smile played on Yukino's face, but her voice was icy. She left those words behind and strode away.
"Oh! I'm sorry! Wait for me, Yukino—"
Yuihama quickly caught up, but Yukinoshita gradually slowed down, and the two of them closed the distance between them.
I walked two steps behind them and watched them silently.
At this moment, the distance between them that they had always struggled to maintain finally returned to how it used to be.
× × ×
"Space Mountain" is one of the three famous roller coasters at Disneyland, and is often shortened to "Space Mountain".
The group arrived in front of the giant egg-shaped building, ready to join the queue. Only Yukinoshita crossed her arms and turned her head to one side.
"There's really no Christmas vibe here, so it might not be a reliable indicator..."
Yukinoshita is methodical in her approach to things. She hasn't forgotten her purpose in coming here today: to gather material for the upcoming Christmas event and find something that can be used as a reference.
However, Yuihama, who was standing next to her, didn't think that much about it and pointed to a corner of the dome-shaped building, saying:
"Oh, but look, there are Christmas wreaths over there! So let's line up!"
"Those kinds of wreaths aren't available everywhere..."
The Christmas wreaths Yuihama pointed out are probably a uniform design throughout the park; you can see them everywhere. She just wanted to build a space mountain, so she made up such a far-fetched reason.
Well, Hiratsuka-sensei wants us to relax a bit, so there's nothing wrong with coming and having some fun.
Yuihama gave him a pleading look, like a puppy, and Yukinoshita finally raised the white flag in surrender, sighing as she said:
"...Sigh, I'll ride with you this time."
Iroha, who was at the front of the line, turned around and told them:
"What does it matter? There are so many rides, we can probably only ride them once anyway."
"Really?"
"Yes, because I want to travel and see more of the world."
I understand now, that's what it means. I can understand.
Today's itinerary was planned by Isshiki.
After taking photos, the group boarded the Pirate King of the Caribbean and followed the crowd to obtain a Fastpass for Black Thunder Mountain, then arrived at their current location in the Tomorrowland area. They'll probably be heading to other areas later.
Many Chiba residents have a peculiar insistence on their routes at Tekkaman Disneyland, planning the most efficient route based on their destination. This is a way to distinguish experienced tourists from out-of-town visitors, and perhaps it's also a unique way of thinking for Chiba residents who have the advantage of being in a good location.
Since Yukinoshita no longer insisted on her own opinion, the group joined the queue waiting to ride the Cosmos Mountain.
Hayama Group was at the front of the line, followed by Yukinoshita and Yuigahama. Since the Uchuyama train had two rows of seats, the queue was naturally divided into left and right lines.
