The Tale of the Later Twin Tails (Mizusawa Yume)
Hello readers, it's nice to meet you all. I'm Shui Ze Meng.
I usually write stories about twin tails that might already be finished by the time this book is published. When I write twin tail stories, I always write a sequel to the twin tail tale, so this one is also a sequel to the twin tail tale.
The author of Guoqing, Wataru Watari, is a kind and caring person who takes good care of his juniors. He has also been very kind to me. Therefore, when someone asked me to write a collection of short stories, I replied, "I would be happy to!"
For example, several years ago, I held a book signing event with Teacher Du at a bookstore.
At the time, Ms. Watari wrote a message under the signature, saying to me, "Writers (unlike illustrators) can't add pictures, so readers will be happy if you write a few more words when you sign your name." She gave me this advice.
Taking this as an opportunity, I also started adding funny comments to my signature.
I've shared such heartwarming stories, so I hope all of you Guoqing readers can turn a blind eye to the somewhat silly stories I wrote in this book.
Water Dream
Postscript (by Yu Shiyou)
After finishing this short story, my browser ads were filled with "phimosis".
I will never forgive Watari, even if it means death.
It was a battle that lasted for about nine years; it was truly arduous.
Yu Shi You Shi
Postscript (Watari)
Hello everyone, I'm Watari.
A while ago, I finished writing the fourteenth episode of "My Youth Romantic Comedy Was Wrong As Expected." I thought that would mean I wouldn't have the chance to write an afterword for a while, but it wasn't long before I had to write another one.
It's over! I'm free! No one can stop me anymore! I felt so proud back then, it all seemed like a dream.
I'm still here, writing the sequel to that day. Yes, at Shogakukan in Jimbocho (Note 28)... Was I on parole before that?
However, during my parole, I also diligently did a lot of work related to "Guo Qing," as I felt a strong sense of mission that "I had to write it..." In my heart, I had no sense that the story had ended; the future stories and short chapters that automatically surfaced in my mind kept swirling around.
Thinking about it carefully, it took about nine years, almost ten. I've spent so much time with them, it's impossible for me to just say "Okay, goodbye" after finishing the last episode. I sometimes suddenly think, "I wonder how that person is doing now..." just like when I think of my junior high school classmates.
I think that in the future, I will probably take every opportunity to think about them and their future. And each time, I will pick up a pen and write down what happened after that day.
Thus, the saying "And so, a new enemy appeared before him" was born.
Since this is a collection of short stories, I thought, "Hmm, this kind of story is not bad..." and wrote this piece. It was very enjoyable to write about characters and plots that I don't usually write about, and I hope I will have the opportunity to write short stories like this again.
Ah, that's right. Yes. It's a collection of short stories. Producer! It's a collection of short stories! A collection of short stories! (Note 29)
It's a project that invites many writers and illustrators to create a lot of Guoqing works. I accidentally revealed my fantasy, "My ideal collection of Guoqing short stories," and it turned out to be a reality.
Having someone I like and admire write a collection of my short stories was both exhilarating and embarrassing; I was so sweaty I was practically drenched in cold sweat and even lost control of my bladder. I peed!
This short story collection, "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU," is an absurd project that's planned for a total of four volumes. My favorite characters will continue to appear!
Besides Yukino Side, please also support Yui Side, Allstars, and On Parade.
The following is an acknowledgment.
Teachers: Hiroaki Ishikawa, Sou Sagara, Muko Tianjin, Yume Mizusawa, and Yuji Yuji.
Thank you all for such a fun and enjoyable work. I thoroughly enjoyed it as a reader, not as the author. Everyone knows this work and its author are incredibly difficult to work with, and I understand this may have caused you some trouble, but I'm happy, so everything is OK.
Sensei Yuki, Sensei Kasuga Ayumu, Sensei Kirifu, Sensei Yuki.
I admired the beautiful illustrations of the characters with great excitement. Aren't they amazing? Looking at each one filled my heart with happiness. It's practically some kind of legal drug. Thank you so much.
ponkan⑧God.
Thank God. The cover is amazing, God. Although it's almost been ten years, I hope to continue working with you in twenty or thirty years, whether I'm sick or healthy. Please continue to guide me! My partner! Thank you!
Editor: Hoshino-sama.
Thank you for making my offhand suggestion a reality. Thank you for accompanying a capricious writer like me who would suggest something absurd like "Let's publish four books!" I'm truly grateful to the storm (Note 30). But the short story collection and other projects will continue! And next time, I'll accompany Wataru Watari on a trip to hell. Don't worry, I'll definitely be able to handle it easily next time! Hehehe!
To the editors of GAGAGA, and to all the publishers who provided assistance.
I'm truly grateful to all the writers and illustrators who commissioned my work based on the absurd reason of "Because I like it!" I extend my deepest thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in this project.
And to all readers.
Even after the conclusion of *My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU*, various projects continued to be launched, undoubtedly thanks to everyone's support. The world of *Kasei* will continue to move forward and gradually expand, and it would be my greatest joy if you were willing to walk this path with me. It is because of everyone's support that this story can continue; it has not ended. Because of you, *Kasei* exists!
That's all the space I've used up. I'll pretend to put down my pen and go write the next draft.
Let's meet again in "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax: On Parade"!
On a certain day in February, I was drinking coffee with a mix of extreme excitement and drowsiness.

"Hachiman—!"
An angel waved to me from behind the gate.
...Huh? That's strange.
I was supposed to be meeting a male classmate today... how come there's an angel here?
I stopped and rubbed my eyes.
...Huh? That's strange. (The following is an infinite loop)
"Hachiman—! I'm here—! Hey—!"
The angel jumped and waved to me, who was standing there rubbing her eyes. Ahhh~ My heart was pounding too~
wrong.
He is not an angel.
It was my classmate, Totsuka Saika.
"Wow! What an adorable girl..."
"Is she that guy with the scary eyes' girlfriend? That's ridiculous..."
People passing through the gate cast astonished and envious glances at Totsuka, who was waving and jumping around. Then, when they saw my face, they bombarded me with voices of doubt and resentment.
Totsuka Saika is physically male.
Of course, it's possible I'm misunderstanding. The evidence is that almost no one at the station thought Totsuka was male; everyone seemed to believe he was a once-in-a-century beauty.
In that case, Totsuka can be classified as a girl, right?
"Hachiman—! There's a traffic jam behind us! Why are you standing in front of the gate daydreaming?! Come here!"
Okay, I'm going now! Please accept this!
To merge with the angel in just two seconds—no, to reunite with him—I composed myself and took a step towards him. I almost...
I passed through the gate and bowed slightly to Totsuka.
"Sorry, I'm too late."
"No, you're not late. I was just so excited to go out with you that I took the tram an early!"
After saying this, Totsuka chuckled shyly and lowered his head.
"⁉"
so close……
I was so excited that I almost hugged him and confessed my feelings...
I glanced to the side to avoid him seeing my blushing face and starting a new conversation.
"Um, well... so this is what Suga Station looks like now?"
"Haha. So cute."
Whether something is cute or not is a matter of personal opinion.
Before I even passed through the gate, I saw that the station was full of footballs.
The station walls are decorated with team flags covered with messages, and the team's representative colors—yellow, green, and red—are everywhere.
To be honest, most JR stations are mostly dull and monotonous gray, but Soga Station is clearly different.
Even the bakery lady inside the station was wearing a yellow uniform to pay, and by no means could she be called "cute." It really felt like she was being forced to wear it.
And I just glimpsed from the platform that there's even a mascot statue standing in the roundabout in front of the station. A statue of two dogs happily playing soccer.
Totsuka peered up at my complex expression and asked:
"Hachiman... Is this your first time getting off at Soga Station?"
"Hey...it's almost time to see your chest through your collar!" I glanced at Totsuka's chest and replied somewhat coldly to the person next to me:
"Because Su is a stopover I almost never use, even when transferring trains. And I don't usually take the tram on weekends."
"I take the tram when I participate in club activities. I also occasionally see people in uniforms at the station and on the tram on weekends."
"Yeah, because it's close to the school."
That's right.
Inagekaigan Station, the closest station to Sobu High School, is only two stops away from Soga Station.
Soga Station is only five minutes away from Chiba Station and about forty minutes away from Tokyo Station. It is also very close to the metropolitan area and is the terminal station where four lines, namely the Uchibo Line, Sotobo Line, Keiyo Line, and Keiyo Rinkai Railway Rinkai Main Line, intersect.
Given its geographical location, the area surrounding Soga Station is reportedly planned to develop into the third major urban center after Chiba Central and Makuhari New Central. The Third New Chiba Central.
...But right now, all you can see here are factories, so it feels very deserted.
The reason Totsuka and I came to Soga Station, which we don't usually visit and which is like a relative's house nearby, was...
"Thank you for coming today."
When I saw that person appear quietly with a refreshing smile, I almost instinctively exclaimed, "Huh!"
Hayato Hayama.
The soccer club president was the one who called Totsuka and me to Soga Station.
He's usually a very popular guy who looks great in both uniform and casual clothes... but today he's wearing a soccer jersey that's almost entirely yellow, and he also has something that looks like a yellow scarf around his neck.
To be honest, Hayama, who seems to prefer dressing more simply, looks very flashy in this outfit.
"Wow! Hayama-kun, you even wore a fan jersey and a towel! You're fully equipped! You really look like a fan. As expected of the soccer club!"
"Fans... jerseys?"
"Jerseys for the fans."
Hayama readily replied, and said to me again, "Thank you for coming today, Penguin-kun."
"Yes, I was surprised myself."
I will answer honestly.
To actually go to a stadium to watch a football match is such an overly social behavior.
Those kinds of events are just parties where people get together to sing that "ole" song (Note 1), right? You're always going back and forth, your self-assertion is too strong, isn't it? Is it "It's me, it's me, I'm deceiving you" (Note 2)? How much do you really like yourself?
"Because JR East is also a sponsor of the Chiba team."
"Um?"
