Although I used this reason to fool the editor and got the manuscript approved, upon closer reflection, does the Service Society really have that many people...?

I also thought of another version: "The vengeful spirit of a girl who died before finishing 'Kasei' and a psychic team up to attack Watari's mansion in Kasei." The vengeful spirit, who went from being a fan to a hater, destroys all of Watari's art collection, luxury cars, and inexplicably large bed! The inversion and chaos of order that is impossible in the real world—that's the power of the story.

I now feel like I've ruined the main point of my short story.

Nine years is a very long time. For young people who will enter the next stage of their lives in three or four years, it goes without saying. I have no way of knowing how long you, the reader of this book, have spent with *Guo Qing*, but you must be in a different place than when you first encountered it. As for me, nine years ago I wrote a novel with no hope of publication every day with the feeling of "I don't want to write anymore, I don't want to write anymore." Now, I feel like, "The game is so much fun~♥ The food is so delicious~♥ My niece can swing on the swing~♥," and I'm happy every day~♥

People really do become idiots when they get old.

I first met Wataru Watari ten years ago, shortly after his debut work, *Ayakashi ga Tari*, ended. We met a few more times after that. Hello everyone, I'm Kawagishi Ouyu, the one that only insiders have heard of, who debuted around the same time as Mr. Watari.

The first volume of "Guoqing" was published in March 2011. Despite the chaos caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, "Guoqing" remained completely unaffected, selling out its initial edition almost instantly and subsequently being reprinted multiple times...

Close your eyes, and it comes to mind as if it happened yesterday—or rather, nine years ago.

Speaking of the veteran authors of GAGGA Bunko back then, even if their books didn't sell well, they could be forgiven. In fact, almost all of their books didn't sell well, so the poor sales actually created a sense of camaraderie and a feeling of shared experience. They lived a life of "What can we do? After all, we're not Dengeki Bunko," a life of being slowly boiled like frogs in water.

What shattered that illusion was Touma Kamio—no, it was the work "Kasei".

It aligns with popular themes and strategies, but more importantly, it's about the quality of the work. The blade in *Fruit Green* shatters a bathtub filled with warm water, pulling us back from the comfort of the lukewarm water to the harsh reality of a cold wind. That's what I thought at the time: "Let me go back to soaking in warm water." But I'd been soaking in warm water the whole time, without wearing any clothes!

As you all know, nine years have passed since that day, and "Guoqing" has grown into a big tree as a pillar of GAGGA Bunko and as a pillar of light novels.

Now that "Guoqing" has ended, I'm really looking forward to what Watari-san will destroy next. I'll be eagerly awaiting that day... in a completely naked state.

Nice to meet you. Or perhaps it's been a long time. I'm Yoshitaka Sakada.

I really like Hiratsuka-sensei. I want to marry her... wait, I mean, I was writing the afterword in the most natural way, and then the second line ended up with a sentence confessing my love to Hiratsuka-sensei. I'm really sorry, but I absolutely love Hiratsuka-sensei's appearance (character design), personality (setting), and voice (CV).

To be honest, the reason why an unknown writer like me was able to take on the important task of writing short stories for "Guoqing" was because Teacher Du casually asked on LINE, "Do you want to write short stories?"

Initially, we agreed to write two short stories featuring different characters, but I couldn't suppress my feelings for Hiratsuka-sensei, so I made a request without much expectation. As a result, the editor agreed to let me write Hiratsuka-sensei's story. I am truly grateful.

I'm still worried about whether I've written anything that will satisfy fellow fans of Hiratsuka-sensei. I really want to be a student of such a wonderful teacher.

More than a decade ago, there was a period when I often read and wrote fan art of games I liked.

Back then, anyone with even a slight knowledge of computers would have played that type of game; derivative works based on it were more popular than original novels. I, too, was immersed in the lies of that culture.

Even the characters who didn't have much screen time in this story had their own thoughts and their own lives. Looking back now, I guess I was trying to get as close as possible to the parts that weren't out in the sunlight.

That being said, regarding the anime "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As Expected," I was a simple fan who watched every episode of the original version.

When I received the invitation to contribute to the short story collection, my understanding was, "Simply put, it's the same as a secondary creation."

But at the same time, I wonder if anyone would want to read Wataru Watari's works outside the canonical canon.

In that case, I must do my best to satisfy all my readers.

I took out my still-intact sword from the refrigerator, put the parts mentioned in the original work and the parts not mentioned into the same pot, stirred them, sprinkled on a seasoning called "delusion," and simmered it over high heat.

Nice to meet you. I am Mukoto Amatsu, the author of "Kuz to Tenshi no Nisoku Shoujo" (The Second Life of Kuzu and the Angel), published by GAGAGA Bunko. I also work as a comedian in my spare time.

I've always loved Guoqing and thoroughly enjoyed reading it, so when I received the invitation to participate in the short story collection project, I was incredibly touched and agreed instantly. However, upon closer inspection, I wondered which other authors were participating. After inquiring about the list of authors, my stomach started to ache.

No way, that's too luxurious.

But it's too late for regrets. Every morning when I wake up, I think a thousand times, "I should have known better than to accept." But when I received the invitation, I was so excited that I wrote three proposals, and all of them were accepted. There was no turning back. The other two are about Yukino Yukinoshita and Shizuka Hiratsuka. You can check them out if you're interested.

Let me share my thoughts after finishing this. I was simply amazed that the characters were so capable of acting on their own. Kawasaki Saki in this story also has more of a will than I imagined, and I quickly came up with a plot. Wataru Watari, the author, is truly a monster for creating such easy-to-write characters.

I feel like I've been writing afterwords all this time. How are you all doing? I'm writing an afterword at Shogakukan in Kanda Jimbocho, Tokyo, today with a lot of energy.

I have never written so many postscripts in such a short period of time before, and to be honest, I am quite overwhelmed.

However, writing many epilogues is essentially the same as writing the same number of novels, right?

Conversely, being surprised by the number of afterwords one has written suggests that the person hasn't written many novels before. No, that's not true. I did write them. It's true.

To put it another way... no, there's no point in going back. Please don't bring it up again, or it'll never end. (Ouyang Feifei's tune)

Spoken words have meaning, unspoken words have intention, but every word carries an unspoken meaning. Ultimately, this story captures that feeling. This applies to both long and short stories, as well as collections of short stories.

However, the implied meaning of that sentence was deeper. This is how the saying came about.

This chapter has finally come to an end. Let me write something with a romantic comedy feel to it—after all, it's a collection of short stories—! I enjoyed writing with this lighthearted feeling.
