Chapter 46 Royal Court Parkour
Chapter 46 Royal Court Parkour
Audrey, I admit the cat people have something.
Chu Sheng thought to himself as he played Temple Run.
The maid in the white dress bent her knees backward, lowered her waist, and lunged forward. Chu Sheng dodged to the side, lightly touched the wall with his toes, and circled around her, grabbing a vase from the doorway and smashing it over her shoulder.
Amber Heard said that there was a warning vine inside the vase.
The vase shattered with a "crack" on the maid's face, startling the hidden vines inside, which wrapped around her neck and shoulders. The maid was pulled backward, letting out a horrible scream.
Chu Sheng had already slipped through the rattan curtain and rushed into the outer corridor of the palace.
A series of hurried footsteps echoed from the vine bridge outside, and in the distance, beautiful but stiff faces peered out of the windows of the treehouse.
Upon seeing this, Chu Sheng turned and ran.
"Here."
"Humans".
"key."
The voices of the elves came from all directions, their tones identical, as if the same person were speaking from hundreds of mouths.
Chu Sheng felt a chill run down his spine and couldn't help but curse, "Damn it, can you guys stop playing your microphones out loud?!"
Two white-clad fairies darted out of the doorway on the left, their hands gleaming with silver light. Chu Sheng didn't stop; in fact, he increased his speed even further.
He lowered his body, stepped on a protrusion in the corner of the wall with his right foot, and used the momentum to flip upwards. The two elves pounced on each other, and the silver light struck the wall, burning a scorch mark.
Chu Sheng landed without pausing, slightly bending his knees and twisting his waist to avoid the three thorny vines falling from above.
The thorns dug into the floor, only half a finger's width from his heel.
Almost.
His back was covered in cold sweat, but his body was moving faster and faster.
Chu Sheng used to hate those jumping enemies in action games the most; the camera couldn't follow them, and he could only stand still and get hit. Now that he's the enemy himself, he realizes that jumping around is both incredibly satisfying and incredibly ruthless.
The elves couldn't catch up with him at all; they were physically strong, their movements were synchronized, and their teamwork was excellent.
But Chu Sheng was now like a cat in a state of stress, squeezing into narrow places and stepping on high places, his movements completely erratic. The railings, flower trellises, and vine beams in the corridor, designed for the tall figures of the elves, all became his footholds.
An elf reached out to grab his shoulder, but Chu Sheng raised his elbow to push her wrist away, then leaped up, stepping on her shoulder with his toes, and grabbed a vine hanging above.
The vines swung!
He flew over the heads of the three elves and landed on the windowsill ten paces away.
Excuse me!
He jumped down after saying that.
Outside the window was not the ground, but a vine bridge that encircled the outer side of the palace, more than ten meters above the glowing moss below.
Normally, Chu Sheng would have to think twice before even glancing at it, wondering if he could trigger the slime's special properties if he fell.
He landed on the edge of the vine bridge, his knees sank, his body lost its momentum, the vine bridge swayed suddenly, and he stood up steadily.
Four white-dressed fairies stood on the bridge. They turned around at the same time, raised their arms, and their palms shone with a bright silver light.
Chu Sheng was stunned.
These sprites actually retained their battle intelligence; knowing that close combat was ineffective, they started kiting.
The first beam of light grazed past his ear and shattered the window behind him; the second was a wind blade that sliced past his waist, cutting off half of his hem; the third was a rattan spear that pierced out from under his feet, which Chu Sheng used to bounce upwards.
The fourth one is the most damn sneaky.
A thin silver thread shot straight toward his ankle!
When Chu Sheng realized it, the silver thread had already touched the edge of his shoe. He didn't know what the silver thread did, so to be on the safe side, he gritted his teeth, twisted his body to the side, and fell sideways, grabbing the outer edge of the bridge railing with his left hand and dangling his feet in the air.
The silver thread brushed past the sole of the shoe, smoothly slicing a piece of rattan bridge in half, the cut as neat as if it were tofu.
Chu Sheng hung outside the bridge, glancing down at what lay below.
High, extremely high.
He looked away, pushed off with his arms, and flipped back onto the bridge, clinging to the outside. As soon as he landed, an elf rushed towards him.
Chu Sheng kicked her in the shin, causing the elf to lose her balance. Chu Sheng grabbed her wrist and used her as a shield to meet the incoming wind blades.
The wind blade struck the elf's shoulder, tearing her white dress open. However, no blood gushed out; only a mass of grayish-white flesh twitched briefly before quickly returning to its original state.
Chu Sheng's eyes flickered slightly. These things were indeed not normal elves, but they didn't quite look like shapeshifters either.
When a shapeshifter is injured, it reveals its chaotic gelatinous substance, while when these sprites are injured, they writhe like opaque slimes.
He didn't have time to look closely and turned to rush towards the bedroom.
He had just walked through the Queen's bedroom. The quickest way to get back to Amber's bedside was to cross the outer vine bridge and circle back to the high window he had just climbed in through.
But now a dozen elves are standing by that window, each with a silver glow in their hands, waiting for him to walk right into their trap.
The pursuers were closing in from behind, the windows in front were sealed off, and there was only the sky above on both sides.
Chu Sheng was blocked on the rattan bridge.
There were no roads in the world originally, but as more people walked on them, they became roads!
He leaped onto the railing of the rattan bridge and ran wildly along the narrow railing!
The elves' ranged spells immediately caught up, silver light, wind blades, vine thorns, and water arrows raining down on him one after another, sending splinters of wood flying everywhere.
Every time Chu Sheng took a step, the spot where he had just landed was blown to pieces. Twice the railing was even broken, and he could only grab the vines hanging down and pull himself back by the strength of his arms.
The cat-man's agility allowed him to constantly find gaps in the dense barrage of fire. The elves' spells were clearly aimed at him, but they always ended up missing by a little bit.
Chu Sheng rushed to the end of the vine bridge, where a thick tree branch stretched across the side wall of the palace. He stepped on the branch and ran up it, quickly reaching the window outside the side wall.
Inside is the sleeping quarters, and Amber is inside!
He lunged to the window and was about to climb in when a silver light suddenly shone from inside!
"Buy Hao!"
Chu Sheng immediately let go and leaned back, a silver ring grazing his nose as it flew out of the window!
He was clinging to the wall by one hand, gripping a vine outside the windowsill, cold sweat dripping down his forehead.
From inside the window, Estella's voice drifted softly.
"Mr. Chusheng, you're really back?"
Chu Sheng's heart sank. He didn't answer, but kicked the bottom edge of the window frame and swung out to another small window on the side.
The window was closed, and there was a thin layer of curtains on the outside.
Chu Sheng used the same trick again, kicking open the window with both feet.
"Bang!"
He fell into the corner of the bedroom, rolled twice to cushion the fall, and then immediately got up and assumed a guarded posture.
Estella was standing by the bed!
Amber lay on the bed, her face pale. Her hands were once again bound by silver rings, and the thin chains were pulled back to the headboard. The chains around her ankles and waist were also taut, the silver runes flickering.
Esta stood by the bed, turned her head, and gave Chu Sheng a sweet smile.
"They got the key and they came back too, that's amazing."
