Chapter 263 Yekura's Dark Turn
Chapter 263 Yekura's Dark Turn
Half a day later, in the medical room of Amegakure Village.
Chisuke, with bandages wrapped from his chin to the top of his head, sat quietly in the chair.
Next to the chair was a medical bed, on which Yecang lay, still unconscious after receiving treatment.
The transparent medicine is being injected into the leaf sac through an IV tube.
"Lord Hanzo!"
Outside the door, a respectful greeting from the Rain Ninja rang out. A moment later, the door was gently pushed open, and Hanzo, the Rain Ninja leader, entered the room.
Behind Hanzo were Yahiko and two others, as well as two Rain Ninja, Tatsumi and Shigeo Shima.
"You've come to Amegakure, does the Kazekage have some plans for you?"
Beneath the metal mask came Hanzo's somewhat muffled voice, but Chisuke shook his head: "Only my teacher knows this information."
Seeing that Chisuke knew nothing, Hanzo didn't intend to stay and turned to leave, planning to ask Yokura after she woke up.
He turned halfway around when Ye Cang suddenly opened his eyes, sat up in bed, and spoke in a hoarse voice.
"The day after tomorrow, the Kazekage will lead the Sand Village in a counterattack. We hope the Rain Village will join us in attacking the Land of Fire."
Upon hearing Yekura's words, Hanzo calmly said, "It seems this will be the final battle. Neither Sunagakure nor Konoha can withstand the wear and tear of war."
Hanzo nodded slowly, about to agree to Yekura's request to send troops, but Yahiko beside him expressed a different opinion.
"Lord Hanzo, our attack on the Land of Fire will not only increase casualties but also deepen the hatred between nations. Our Amegakure should mediate the war between Sunagakure and Konoha and do our utmost to achieve peace between the nations."
Seeing that Yahiko had spoken without permission, Shigeo Shima immediately rebuked him: "Lord Hanzo is here, it's not your place to make decisions!"
Hanzo slightly raised his hand to stop Shimoo's accusations, and said in a teaching tone, "The person who can stop two strong men from fighting must be another strong man. In Konoha's eyes, our Amegakure is just a small ninja village, and they won't care about our mediation at all. Only by demonstrating strong power can we gain the right to speak and make Konoha seriously consider our peace proposal."
Seeing that Yahiko was frowning and seemed to disagree, and was about to speak, Hanzo reprimanded him unhappily.
"My mind is made up. We will attack the Land of Fire the day after tomorrow. However, if the Land of Fire agrees to peace talks and withdraws its troops from the Land of Wind, we will immediately cease our attack and will absolutely not escalate the war or cause unnecessary casualties."
At this point, Hanzo looked at Yekura: "Our deployment this time is only to fulfill our responsibilities as allies, not to seek the land of the Land of Fire. As allies, we hope you can listen to our voices and do your best to strive for peace."
Upon hearing this, Yahiko and the other two felt that Hanzo had accepted some of their opinions and was prepared to use force to achieve peace, so they no longer objected.
As Hanzo said, Amegakure is not strong enough, and even if they want to achieve peace, they will find it difficult to accomplish anything in the face of the war between Sunagakure and Konoha.
Yekura did not agree to Hanzo's request, but said, "I will convey your words to Lord Kazekage. I cannot guarantee what Lord Kazekage will decide."
Yekura was telling the truth, and neither Hanzo nor Yahiko had anything to say.
After the exchange, Yahiko and his two companions, along with Shinta and Shigeo Shima, left to mobilize the Rain Ninja in preparation for the war the day after tomorrow.
Hanzo, however, stayed behind.
"Lord Hanzo, is there anything else you wish to tell me?"
Seeing that neither Hanzo nor Yekura intended to speak, Chisuke had no choice but to break the silence himself.
Hanzo glanced at Sensuke, then turned to look at Pakura: "How do the Sand Village ninja view the Akatsuki, and what are their ideals?"
Upon hearing this question, Chisuke understood the meaning behind Hanzo's glance at him, and consciously stood up and walked out of the room.
It's obvious without even listening that Hanzo is extremely dissatisfied with the Akatsuki organization. He could tolerate it during the war, but he will definitely settle scores with them after the war ends.
The Akatsuki organization is powerful, and the cautious Hanzo will not act rashly. It seems that Hanzo may have to join forces with the Sand Village to deal with the Akatsuki.
A moment later, seeing Hanzo leave the ward, Sensuke went back.
Chisuke knew that Yokura was tight-lipped and wouldn't tell him what they had just talked about, so he didn't ask at all, but instead stood hesitantly at the door.
"Teacher, Juan Zhan died. These are her belongings."
Chisuke's calm voice betrayed a hint of sadness as he placed the rolled-up headband on the bedside table next to Yokura with his right hand.
"Is Juan... dead...?"
Yekura lowered her head slightly, her hair falling down to cover her face, and a hoarse voice, like that of an old cassette tape, slowly emanated from beneath her hair.
Looking at the calm Yekura, Chisuke suddenly felt a pang of unease, as if it were the calm before the storm, and disaster could strike at any moment.
After thinking for a moment, Chisuke gritted his teeth and continued speaking in a voice that suppressed his anger.
"Teacher, there's been a problem with this mission. Someone must have leaked the information. We can't just let this go, or all that effort will have been for nothing!"
Upon hearing Chisuke's words, Yekura slightly raised her head, revealing calm, serene eyes.
"We'll investigate how Konoha knew about us later. What I want to know now is how Amegakure knew about us. Since they were able to save us in time, it means that the person who leaked the information to them probably also knew about Konoha's ambush of us."
These words are well-organized, indicating that Yekura's rationality remains intact and that she has not lost her senses despite Maki's death.
Investigating how Konoha obtained information is relatively difficult, but investigating how Amegakure obtained information is relatively simple.
As expected of Professor Yecang, she can suppress her intense emotions.
That's good, because the more negative emotions are suppressed, the more painful it becomes, and the more violently they erupt.
Suppressing their own thoughts, Senju immediately replied, "I asked them. Yahiko and the others said it was a mysterious masked man who told them about us and that Konoha was going to ambush us."
After recounting the information, Senju waited a few seconds before speaking again: "Teacher, just as you said, this mysterious person not only knew this information, but also managed to time it perfectly to notify the Rain Ninja to rescue us. I suspect he must be a Konoha ninja, and a high-ranking one at that. No one else could do that."
Following Chisuke's train of thought, Yekura nodded and said, "What you said makes a lot of sense. As far as I know, Jiraiya and Minato Namikaze are master and disciple. This time, Minato Namikaze became the commander of Konoha's attack on us. There must be some people in Konoha who are dissatisfied and do not want him to win easily. That's why they stopped Jiraiya from intercepting us."
Seeing that Yekura had made up his story, Chisuke said no more and took his leave: "Master, you are badly injured. Please rest well. I'll be leaving now."
Chisuke left, the door closed, and under the pale white light, Yekura trembled as she reached out her right hand and grabbed Maki's headband.
"roll……"
Yekura recalled Maki's innocent face, and unconsciously tightened her right hand, causing the headband to gradually twist and deform in her grasp.
"Chiyo, Rasa, I will not let you get away with this!"
