Chapter 359: You Are Not Alwin
Chapter 359: You Are Not Alwin
Chapter 359: You Are Not Alwin"Alwin, stop this already.
I am the Empress.
I am Ferdinand’s wife.
And I am Arabella.
I’m not a fake.
You are the one who’s acting so strangely," Arabella pointed out with renewed determination.
"What are you talking about?
Just admit it already.
I won’t allow you to be with His Majesty.
I will kill you right here so His Majesty wouldn’t have to be hurt when he realizes, the one he had been with these past few months had been a fake."
He moved the knife to Arabella’s throat and some strands of her hair were cut.
’No. Alwin would never do this.
Even when I was a corpse, he regrew the small amount of my hair that he singed to make Renee leave my body.
He even cleaned my corpse and fixed it so it would look as I usually do.
This isn’t Alwin!
Is he not back yet?
Did someone infiltrate and pretend to be him in the short time he was away?
Or is someone controlling Alwin?’
Arabella felt like her mind might explode from thinking of all the possibilities on how and why this Alwin was acting like this.
"No. You are not Alwin.
Stop using Ferdinand as your excuse.
Alwin would never do this.
Who are you?
You are the one who’s a fake!" she barked at him.
She froze when he grinned so evilly.
It didn’t suit Alwin’s face at all.
Alwin never did this before and never would.
’Could it be that entity?!’
She thought it was the god who had been meddling around.
However...
"Who do you think?
I am Marcus.
I will kill you in this lifetime too, naïve girl.
I hope you enjoyed your little vacation.
Did you really think you could escape death?
I will kill you again in this life and I will make sure you die for good this time," he spoke in a different voice.
’What?!
He is Marcus and he has memories of the previous life?!’
Arabella’s danger radar was screaming.
What if she would really die here if she didn’t do anything?
If this was indeed Marcus pretending to be Alwin, it meant Alwin was not back yet or the Alwin guarding her today was not the real one.
She could only delay it until someone would notice something was amiss in her study.
"What are you talking about?
I don’t know you.
Get out of Alwin’s body, you bastard!"
"This isn’t his body in the first place. This is mine," he said, and his appearance changed into Marcus’.
"What?! How are you able to infiltrate here unnoticed?"
She thought there were several layers of barriers around the mansion. There were guard knights too.
"Who would suspect me when I’m using that mage’s appearance?" he chuckled.
"Now, it’s time to die, little girl.
Don’t you miss your child?
Fermin, was it?
He must be lonely, waiting for you."
"Damn, bastard!
Don’t you dare utter my son’s name!"
Arabella felt something inside her burst, and she slapped him as hard as she could.
It landed.
The sound was loud and satisfying and her hand hurt due to it.
But it was alright.
She had been aching to at least give this bastard a little taste of pain. And he gave her the opportunity to do so by coming here himself.
Since he seemed to have memories of the past too and intends to do what he did in the past again, she didn’t need to feel bad about inflicting him some pain.
Arabella gave him another hard slap with her other hand while he was taken aback by her first slap.
His dagger fell to the floor, and it vanished.
’I’m the one who’s going to kill you.
You bastard!
How dare you kill my son!’
Arabella pulled her hairpin and tried to stab him.
He blocked it with his hand, so his hand got stabbed instead.
He groaned in pain, but Arabella was too angry to stop.
He was going to kill her anyway. She would try killing him instead.
She pulled out her hairpin from his hand and his blood began to flow.
It made her somewhat dizzy.
But first and foremost, she needed to inflict more pain on this person who wanted to kill her and her son again.
She tried to stab him again, but he held both her wrists.
Arabella tried to free herself, but he was stronger than she was.
He uttered a spell and the next second, she could not move.
’Why did that spell sound familiar?’
She was sure she had heard it before.
Ah, it was the spell Alwin used on Renee before.
"I didn’t know you were also violent, Your Majesty," he spoke in Alwin’s voice again.
He even changed back to Alwin’s appearance.
"You won’t trick me again. Stop using Alwin’s appearance just because you are injured a bit," Arabella glared.
"Wrong.
I am Alwin.
I only pretended to be Marcus," he said, and Arabella frowned.
He healed his wound in a second.
His clothes and Arabella’s got some of his blood though. Even the carpet had drops of his blood.
"Stop it.
You already revealed you are Marcus.
Why are you trying to change it now?"
Arabella gave him another glare.
"Because I am indeed Alwin.
Right before I asked you how you learned about what Evania did, I flicked my fingers.
I used a hypnotic spell on myself that would make me believe, think, and act that way.
It was just for ten minutes with set conditions. And it got deactivated after you stabbed me," he explained.
’What is he trying to do now?’
Arabella wanted to know if he had some other motives for him to try fooling her like this.
"Liar. Please stop trying to fool me.
What would you get from fooling me if you would kill me anyway?
Do you think I would believe everything you people tell just like in my past life?!"
’When will anyone notice what’s going on here?
They need to come now while he is not yet trying to kill me again.’
Arabella desperately prayed someone would come soon.
