Chapter 375: Lindon’s Acquaintance
Chapter 375: Lindon’s Acquaintance
Chapter 375: Lindon’s Acquaintance"Marcus caught her since she might be an assassin.
When he threatened to kill her, she revealed that she was once Evelyn.
It was then that the two exchanged information.
They reached an agreement and began to plot things to get back at Chester and Fatima as painfully as they could."
Alwin said that after knowing Evelyn was alive, despite already being in her third life as another person, Marcus saw the chance to be with her.
That he could finally do something about all his regrets.
Thus, Marcus grabbed the chance to be with Evelyn who was then Renee, and decided to help her get her vengeance.
Marcus also realized it was high time to leave Chester’s side since he had decided on what to do.
However, due to his plans with Renee, he had to keep staying by Chester’s side first.
It was so he could spy on Chester and Fatima’s movement and know their future plans.
"Marcus and ’Renee’ planned to ruin not only the Leonharts and Ravenhills but also the Zygos royal family to make Chester and Fatima suffer.
And in order to do so, they needed power.
This was why they thought you and His Majesty were their best targets.
However, due to the tight security, they tried using other means first.
They repeatedly failed though.
And the more they failed, the more their next schemes got worst.
Until one day, they decided that the best option for them was acquiring your body and His Majesty’s.
They got deeper into dark magic in order to pursue their goals."
"Then why did Marcus leave Renee behind that time when you appeared at the Magic Tower?" Arabella inquired since she was puzzled.
If Marcus loved Evelyn to the extent he could do all sorts of plotting for her sake, then why abandon her?
"Dark magic has its consequences.
Marcus’ soul gradually weakened.
He didn’t know he also became easy prey for other magicians more powerful than he was.
He got acquainted with other magicians when he was still learning to use dark magic and it was then that he encountered a magician from Fynnia.
When they met again, that magician noticed that Marcus was up to something and secretly followed him.
When he learned what Marcus and Renee were up to, he thought it was the chance for Fynnia to be able to conquer Eliora.
He killed Marcus and took over his body the way Lindon did with Hayden.
Thus, Renee or Evelyn was no one to him."
Alwin said that Renee was clueless about it too.
Renee did not realize that she was once the one in control of her relationship with Marcus but one day, it suddenly changed.
And before she knew it, Marcus was the one in control and she was the one following orders.
Renee thought it was all from Marcus but it was the other magician who occupied him.
"What?!!
Then who is this magician?"
Arabella gripped at her hair at the realization there was someone else out there she needed to be wary of.
"He is one of Lindon’s acquaintances.
I already know his presence so I will be able to sense him.
You don’t have to worry about him," Alwin assured her.
"How can I not?
Was it the real Marcus who poisoned Fermin, or was it the ’Marcus’ already occupied by that magician?"
She needed to know who truly killed her son.
"The one that was already occupied," Alwin replied, and Arabella held her head.
She felt like it might explode.
’I almost hated the wrong person again!’
If Alwin didn’t tell her all this, she would have been thinking that the real Marcus was the culprit.
"No matter what happens, I will protect His Highness in this life, so he won’t experience such a thing again. So please fear not," Alwin reassured her.
It was comforting to know someone so powerful was set on protecting Fermin.
But Arabella still couldn’t help but worry.
"Thank you for wholeheartedly cherishing Fermin even though you despise me," Arabella smiled.
"Humph.
Of course.
He is His Majesty’s son."
Alwin did not deny despising her.
"And he is quite adorable, unlike his mother."
Arabella laughed at this.
She was already content with Alwin loving Fermin. It was alright if he still disliked her.
"And thank you for protecting me and saving my life even though you know what I have done to Ferdinand in the past life."
She knew it must have been quite difficult for him.
She had been hearing Alwin’s internal complaints before.
"You don’t have to thank me.
I’m not doing this for you.
I’m doing this for His Majesty.
I simply want him to be happy after everything he went through just to be able to be with you again," Alwin’s expression turned sullen at the last statement.
It made Arabella recall the trials Ferdinand went through that Alwin repeatedly thought of before.
"What do you mean?
I heard you thinking about it several times before too.
What were the trials Ferdinand went through?" Arabella decided to ask directly.
"I don’t know all the details since just like you, some of my memories were not there when I woke up.
I believe, the gods thought it wasn’t time for me to remember yet."
Alwin was referring to her learning about her other past memories through her dreams.
He was apparently like that too.
There were memories he recalled upon waking up.
But there were some he remembered through dreams in gradual progression.
Meanwhile, he suddenly remembered the others while they were here in Medeus.
And Alwin felt that there were still things he could not remember.
But since he had been remembering things from time to time, he knew he would remember the others someday too.
"Doesn’t that mean Ferdinand might remember too?"
Arabella got nervous at her own question.
"Perhaps. But I think the God of Dragons meddled so His Majesty would not remember.
I remember him having such a saddened expression after His Majesty returned from the trials.
He knew what His Majesty went through and probably thought it was better if my lord did not remember any of it."
Arabella felt a lump in her throat at Alwin’s words.
Just what did Ferdinand go through, for even the God of Dragons who left Ferdinand on his own on an isolated freezing island when he was just born, to feel pity for him?
