Chapter 813: Going Back… unresolved ‘grudge’

Chapter 813: Going Back… unresolved ‘grudge’

As the long-awaited chaos finally subsided into silence, Fang Mo opened his eyes, greeted by the familiar sight of the pristine, white void.

The floating stone platform appeared to have undergone further expansion, with distant production lines forming, and machines from various modules busily processing resources.

“Ah, that felt amazing...”

Stretching his limbs, Fang Mo’s thoughts lingered on the scene he had just left behind.

He couldn’t deny how much fun it had been pretending to be a historical figure like the Führer, especially that final line about destroying and recreating the world, followed by a staged suicide with a Walther pistol, neatly closing a historical loop.

To be honest, Fang Mo admired his own ingenuity.

It was the kind of gaming experience that would leave anyone feeling satisfied for an entire week.

In high spirits, Fang Mo decided to head towards the industrial zone to share the fun with his partner, and maybe even take advantage of the situation to tease her a bit.

However, when he arrived, he was surprised to find that his partner was nowhere in sight.

The machines and production lines were running smoothly, but there was no sign of Alex or Xiao Yao, whether in the wind farm in the sky, on the ground among the production lines, or at the crafting stations.

“Huh?”

This caught Fang Mo off guard.

He checked the mini-map, noticing that even the nearby two-story house was empty.

“Where did Xiao Yao run off to?”

Scratching his head, Fang Mo was momentarily puzzled. He tried sending a few messages through the chat, but no response came.

“Huh?”

Now Fang Mo was really perplexed.

After a moment of thought, he decided to search his three dimensions.

Fortunately, after a brief search, he found traces of his partner. With a slight mental effort, he teleported to her location.

A flash of white light, and the next second, Fang Mo found himself in a familiar room.

His partner was fast asleep, sprawled out on a bed with no defenses whatsoever.

“So, this is where she came?”

Fang Mo looked around and quickly recognized the place: the small villa he had stored using the world chest. He had later placed it in the White Wasteland and left it to be managed by Ah Xuue. Xiao Yao also lived here, along with a fragment of Shoggoth. ꞦAɴŎꞖĘ????

It seemed his partner had gotten along quite well with Ah Xue.

Back in their gaming days, she used to be completely absorbed in playing, with little regard for anything else. Now she had apparently learned to call this place home.

That thought made Fang Mo smile. His partner was finally acting like the lady of the house.

Without waking her, he quietly left the bedroom and descended the stairs, where he found Ah Xue sitting on the couch, petting a cat.

“Oh, Master.”

Surprised to see Fang Mo, Ah Xue stood up. “You’re back. Would you like something to eat?”

“No need, have a seat,” Fang Mo waved her off casually.@@@@

"Chirp!"

Shoggoth seemed pleased as well, jumping into Fang Mo’s arms, wearing a little black top hat. The creature nuzzled against Fang Mo, its tiny tail wagging happily.

“Alright, alright, good kid.” Fang Mo chuckled, scratching Shoggoth under its chin.

The little black cat-like creature closed its eyes in contentment, purring as its black fur began to shift and ripple, almost revealing its true form.

“Did you just come from seeing the mistress?” Ah Xue asked, still petting the cat.

Fang Mo blinked, completely caught off guard.

“Wait, wait,” he stammered, trying to remember. “I think I... might have just... tricked her a little?”

“Just a little trick?”

Emiya glared. “You didn’t do anything worse?”

“Why would I bully her?” Fang Mo asked, genuinely confused. “Didn’t we agree on this? You help me mess with her, and I’ll free you from the Throne of Heroes. What’s with the sudden change of attitude?”

“That was our deal, yes,” Emiya nodded, but then added something that left Fang Mo speechless. “But could you please explain to me why Rin has become a Heroic Spirit?”

“Rin became a Heroic Spirit? That wasn’t... Wait, what?!”

Fang Mo’s eyes widened. “Are you sure it’s not some Heroic Spirit variant and actually her?”

“I’m very sure,” Emiya replied seriously. “Who else but her would search through the Throne of Heroes for a ‘summoned-in-error Adolf from a Lostbelt’?”

“Emmm...”

Fang Mo fell into a long silence.

“By the way,” Emiya continued, “she’s now a Grand Servant.”

“What’s her class?”

“Assassin.”

“What the hell?!”

Fang Mo was speechless. Things had clearly spiraled out of control. A Grand Assassin? Had she ascended because she “assassinated” him, the Führer? This was insane. Those two idiots controlling the Throne of Heroes were surely doing this on purpose!

“Ugh.”

Fang Mo rubbed his temples in frustration.

“Although I’m free now,” Emiya added, “I suggest you go back. Rin seems pretty determined to find you. She hasn’t given up.”

“Ah, crap...”

Fang Mo groaned.

Returning wasn’t the issue, but his Book of Ages had limitations. It might drop him into a strange point in time, where decades could have passed in the *Fate* world while only moments had passed for him.

“Alright, I guess I’ll have to go back,” Fang Mo sighed after some thought.

The Throne of Heroes didn’t adhere to time the way most places did, so hopefully, not too much time had passed.

His original plan had been to prank Rin so hard that she’d never forget him, to satisfy his own twisted sense of humor. But now, it seemed like things had gone way too far. Hearing what Emiya had to say, Fang Mo realized that he was the one losing sleep over this situation.

With a resigned expression, Fang Mo summoned his stand, Steve.

“Stay here. I’ll go take care of this and be back to talk,” he told Emiya before flipping open the Book of Ages once more.

Black mist swirled, and Fang Mo found himself back in the *Fate* world.

Guided by a strange pull, Fang Mo barely had time to adjust his vision before he spotted a familiar girl engaged in battle. She was holding a handful of multicolored gems in one hand and an eerily familiar shotgun in the other, fighting something out of sight with great effort.

“Hm?”

Sensing something, the girl suddenly turned and spotted Fang Mo standing nearby.

"Hey there," Fang Mo greeted her awkwardly, waving his hand.

“You...”

The girl blinked in confusion before rage overtook her expression. She rushed toward him, grabbing him by the collar and shouting, “You were lying to me, weren’t you?!”

“You really faked your own death and the destruction of the world just to deceive me... are you out of your mind?!”
