Chapter 9 Great Evolution Dao Technique
Chapter 9 Great Evolution Dao Technique
"Full of energy, I really like it."
"Hehehe..."
As the voices were heard, three figures emerged from the bushes: an elderly woman with gray hair, and two girls around sixteen or seventeen years old. They were dressed in strange clothes, somewhat like people from ancient times, and their appearance and behavior were somewhat eerie.
Zhou Fengchen's heart pounded, his breathing became rapid, and he involuntarily took two steps back, asking, "Who... are you?"
"What is it? Hehehe..."
The old lady was very old and toothless, but she covered her mouth and laughed like a little girl.
A girl behind her pointed to the sky and said in a clear voice: "Drinking morning dew, eating moonlight at night, all kinds of immortal magic can be grasped with a wave of the hand."
Another girl pulled a fluffy tail out from behind her and said with a grin, "Soar through the clouds and mist, witness the splendor of the world, hundreds of palaces, and enjoy the ultimate bliss on earth."
Zhou Fengchen's eyes widened, and he roared, "I'm asking you, what exactly are you? Why did you come out of Millet Mountain? What nonsense are you spouting!"
The old woman and the two little girls looked at each other, bewildered. "Is this man crazy?"
"Are you going to talk or not?" Zhou Fengchen asked slowly as he approached, his eyes red.
The old woman looked Zhou Fengchen up and down, then suddenly her expression changed. She pulled the two girls aside and quietly retreated, saying, "Let's go!"
After saying that, the three of them turned into three wisps of gray smoke and disappeared into the distance in a flash.
"Where are you going? Xuan Twenty-One, clone, hurry!"
Zhou Fengchen lowered his stance, formed seven hand seals, and with a swift movement, his body inexplicably split into three identical figures, chasing after the three wisps of gray energy: "Go back!"
The gray mist in the middle suddenly transformed into a yellow fox, which glanced back as it ran, then shrieked and spoke in human language: "Dayandao? It's a grave-keeper! Run!"
The other two wisps of gray mist transformed into a red fox and a white fox. The three foxes fled on the wind, screaming incessantly. However, Zhou Fengchen was too fast, almost right behind them.
Seeing that they were about to be trapped, the yellow fox in the middle rolled its eyes and sneered, "You're the one who let the demons of Qingqiu Tomb go, aren't you? Now you've lost all your virtue and will hardly live past ten years. Instead of chasing after those kings, you're bothering us three little demons. You're really a piece of trash."
The red fox exclaimed, "You've caused a huge disaster!"
The white fox retorted disdainfully, "How can you face your ancestors!"
The three Zhou Fengchen bodies trembled simultaneously, swayed and stopped, then transformed back into one. The three foxes took the opportunity to escape and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"The Myriad Demons of Qingqiu Tomb? Ancestors, Father..."
Looking at the traces left by the departing demons in the sky, Zhou Fengchen muttered to himself, feeling lost and helpless.
……
He didn't know how he got back to the town, and stood outside the town staring blankly at Millet Mountain.
A row of vehicles was parked at the foot of the mountain, and several glaring banners were strung along the mountain road, reading: Xiaomishan Qin and Han Dynasty Relics Archaeological Base, No Unauthorized Personnel Allowed...
There were many people on the mountain, and several machines were digging!
"Fuck your mother! You old dog!"
He was furious. He gritted his teeth and charged toward the town government compound. From a distance, he could see a huge, dark mass of people there, like a wedding celebration.
Someone with sharp eyes spotted Zhou Fengchen and shouted, "Oh no! Chenwazi is back!"
Immediately, someone rushed into the house in a panic to report the incident, while the remaining dozens of people blocked the door with embarrassed expressions.
Zhou Fengchen reached the door, his face grim. "Get out of my way!"
A middle-aged man said with a bitter face, "Chenwazi, don't get angry. This was agreed upon half a year ago."
Zhou Fengchen glared at him, "Get out of here or not?"
Others said, "This cemetery belongs to the public, not yours. Why are you worrying about it? Besides, it benefits everyone; they can make a lot of money from it. You should go do whatever you need to do!"
Just then, the old clan chief's voice came from inside: "Arrest him and lock him up in the mountain temple!"
The group of men, young and old, looked at each other, exchanging knowing glances, ready to make their move.
"It turns out the whole town was conspiring to cheat!"
Zhou Fengchen gritted his teeth: "Old clan leader, you old codger who kicks away the ladder after crossing the river! You really think they can catch me? If I hadn't been afraid of hurting them last time, these rotten tomatoes and stinky bird eggs wouldn't have been able to touch a hair on my head!"
The group was furious. "That's too arrogant! You're one person, but there are dozens of us. Do you think we're afraid of you?"
Suddenly someone shouted, "Hit him!"
A group of people rushed over. Zhou Fengchen, with a sullen face, moved with uncanny agility, leaping and bounding about, punching and kicking with ease. In an instant, the crowd was thrown into chaos, with screams echoing everywhere.
The old clan chief, Granny Lan, and a group of old men stood on tiptoe to watch, their hearts pounding with fear.
At this moment, five people came out of the house: an old man with gray hair and glasses, two girls, and two young men. The five of them were completely different from the locals in terms of clothing and demeanor.
The five men were also dumbfounded. The old man with glasses asked in surprise, "Brother Ge, what does this young man do? How can he fight so well? He can take on dozens of people by himself. Even the most elite special forces soldiers in the army don't have this kind of physical ability."
The old clan chief looked embarrassed and said with a forced smile, "Professor Li, this is a troublemaker from our town. He's never been good at anything but fighting."
Professor Li asked, "Won't something bad happen?"
The old clan chief was very confident: "No way! Although this kid is making a lot of trouble, he will definitely know his limits."
Professor Li nodded, and was about to take a closer look when he discovered that the brawl was over. No one was still standing; a bunch of people were lying on the ground groaning, while the tough young man was charging towards them unharmed.
The old clan chief and the others were startled and turned to run, but they were no match for Zhou Fengchen's speed. In the blink of an eye, the old clan chief and Granny Lan were grabbed by the neck.
Zhou Fengchen was furious: "You said you wouldn't touch Xiaomi Mountain! Are you kidding me?"
Grandma Lan was terrified, but the old clan chief calmed down and coughed, saying, "Chenwa, we can't say we lied to you. This was all decided half a year ago. How could we change it so easily? There's nothing we can do."
Zhou Fengchen remained unmoved. A pretty girl behind Professor Li, unable to stand it any longer, scolded, "Hey! Don't you know what respecting the elderly and caring for the young means? How can you lay a hand on an old person like that? If you continue, we'll call the police!"
Professor Li stepped forward and said, "I understand, you...you want to stop us from conducting archaeological excavations, right?"
Zhou Fengchen glanced at them and nodded: "Yes!"
Professor Li smiled and said, "Why? There must be a reason, right?"
Zhou Fengchen was stunned for a moment. His father hadn't explained to him why he used to guard Xiaomi Mountain. Now that many demons were emerging from there, what use were these people?
While the group was still waiting for his answer, Zhou Fengchen released the old clan chief and Granny Lan and whispered, "My home is upstairs."
The old clan chief rubbed his neck and chuckled dryly, saying, "That dilapidated cave wasn't worth much. We've moved everything out of there, and tomorrow the town will pay for a big brick house to be built for you!"
"Where are my things?" Zhou Fengchen asked anxiously.
The old patriarch pointed inside, and Zhou Fengchen immediately rushed in, only to run out again as soon as he entered, shouting, "Where's my jade stone?"
The old clan chief shook his head blankly. "I don't know. What jade?"
Professor Li nodded to a girl behind him, who took out a crystal-clear, blood-red jade stone from her bag, though it was now covered in cracks.
Professor Li took the jade stone and asked Zhou Fengchen, "Young man, is this yours? Do you know what this is? This is called a bi, an ancient jade from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Round ones with blood-red markings are very rare. This piece is absolutely priceless and has great research value, but why is there suddenly..."
Before he could finish speaking, Zhou Fengchen reached out and grabbed it, staring at the cracks on it and panting heavily. This stone was his father's most treasured possession, which he wouldn't let anyone touch, and was only passed down to him after his death.
"The jade stone is broken, and our lineage is gone. Your father and our ancestors will become a laughing stock. You're free now, kid. Go do whatever you need to do."
This was something my father said to me a month before he died, when he was drunk and I patted him on the shoulder. I didn't understand it at the time and thought it was pretty silly, so I said nonchalantly, "Dad, don't worry! I won't make you a laughingstock! I may not have any other skills, but can't I even protect a rock?"
He kept staring at the ancient jade as he walked forward, ignoring the shouts and yells of the group of people behind him.
The closer you get to Xiaomi Mountain, the more cracks appear on the ancient jade, until it eventually shatters into pieces.
"My life is just too unlucky!" Zhou Fengchen looked at the ground, his face turned pale, he swayed and fainted.
