Chapter 891 The First Family

Chapter 891 The First Family

Peter arrived at the college around 10:00 AM and played with Katie until about 11:30 AM before leaving with Johnny. Johnny sped off, trying to get to Baxter Building before 12:00 PM so they could have lunch.

Peter wasn't worried about anyone else, but he called Gwen. Uncle Ben was going to a veterans' gathering at noon and would be home for dinner in the evening. Aunt May was having a Christmas party at a charity event at noon. Plus, Peter was going to Baxter's Mansion for lunch, which meant the Parker family wouldn't be providing lunch.

Chief George is undoubtedly working hard today, so the question is, what is Gwen having for lunch?

Johnny glanced at Peter: "Is the internet going to go down again after noon?"

"Yeah, Vision will have to switch servers to another location to deal with Ultron. Wait a minute, Gwen? What are you doing? Why is it so noisy? Band rehearsal? Did you get the wrong number? Yes, it's me, not Uncle George. And what kind of gunshot would come from a band rehearsal?"

Johnny became interested: "How did she explain it?"

"Just say there was a shooting nearby. It seems there really was a shooting near Midtown High School. Wait a minute—" After chatting with Johnny for a bit, Peter turned to Gwen: "You've already arrested him? Good. Remember to call the police. Your phone will probably be disconnected again in about an hour. Oh, by the way, do you have any plans for lunch? A band gathering? Okay, never mind then."

Peter was about to hang up when Gwen asked another question: "Wait, who's next to you?"

"Next to me? Johnny, that's the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four."

"Hi, Spider-Man's girlfriend, I mean, Spider-Man's friend, but she's a girl, here."

"Johnny!" Johnny leaned close to the phone and shouted, "I just picked Spider-Man up from Xavier's School and we're going to the Baxter Building for a Christmas party."

"That's it, I'm done."

Peter hung up the phone abruptly, while Johnny looked regretful: "Hey, I haven't even told her about you giving a short, blonde girl a Christmas present yet, why did you hang up?"

"Of course! That explains why my spider-sense was working."

Peter sighed, looking at the Baxter Building getting closer and closer: "We're almost there, we can't wait to get off the bus."

"It's okay, no rush, I'll be right there."

Upon arriving at Baxter Tower, Peter saw the other three Fantastic Four members preparing lunch. Reed was making sandwiches, using his incredibly sophisticated scientific mind to create identical sandwiches. Susan was slicing ham, while Ben Grimm, the Thing, seemed to be making some kind of cream stew.

And then there's the invincible Franklin Richard, doing the hardest job in the world: taking care of his one-year-old sister.

"I can't stand Valerie anymore, I really can't stand her."

Upon seeing Peter, Franklin exclaimed as if he had seen a savior: "I have seen the most terrifying creature! Benjamin!"

Help me!

"Don't trouble yourself, Peter. Franklin, Peter is a guest."

Reed used his long arms to take Valerie into his arms and began to fulfill his duties as a father by caring for the child. So, after being picked up by Reed, little Valerie uttered her first words: "When can I go see Uncle Doom?"

Reed then broke down.

"Susan, could you please look after Xiao Wa?"

Reed chose to quickly abandon the responsibility: "I simply can't solve this girl's problem."

"Hmm? What's the problem?"

So Xiao Wa asked the same question again, which made Susan quite uncomfortable.

As for Johnny, he went back to his room after reaching the top floor of the Baxter Building and disappeared to do no one's business. Ben Grimm, having finished cooking, went to the Christmas tree, picked up a box of Christmas presents, and handed it directly to Peter: "Hey buddy, here you go. Maybe you should try it now."

Peter glanced at the Christmas gift box, which was the same size and style as the uniform box Cyclops had given him, and said half-jokingly as he opened it, "Is this going to be a Fantastic Four uniform for Spider-Man?"

Then, as Peter opened the gift box, he heard the cheers of the Human Torch as he slid out of the room.

"Of course not, this is a Fantastic Four sweater!"

Johnny ran out wearing a blue and white sweater with a color scheme that was not much different from the Fantastic Four's Unstable Uniform. Peter looked at the others and realized that they were all wearing the same sweater today, not the uniform, even Franklin and Little Vallée.

However, this sweater looks very similar to the uniform in the movie "Fantastic Four: First Class," or at least it looks very similar. Of course, it's more likely that the uniform in that movie simply resembles a sweater.

"Uh, cool, I'm going to the bathroom to change my clothes and also prepare the Christmas presents for everyone."

Peter went to the bathroom to change his clothes as he spoke, then came out carrying six packages: "I didn't sign them, but you should all know who they are from when you see the gifts, so—"

Johnny was the first to rush over. After flamboyantly tearing open the top gift box, he exclaimed, "This is definitely not mine, it's for you, Old Stone."

"A pizza voucher, oh, and an Italian pizza recipe book, haha, very nice gift." The Stone Man took the voucher, while Peter, holding the gift, said, "Amadeus said you treated him to pizza for over a month, so I thought, maybe you can use this."

Then Johnny opened another gift: "This is my AC/CDC vinyl record, a good one."

Actually, it was dug up from the wasteland universe. These kinds of things are not only well-preserved when brought back from the wasteland universe, but they're also free, even if they're a bit old. But it seems that being a bit old isn't necessarily a bad thing for vinyl records.

On the other side, after a large box was opened, Reed Richards was puzzled upon seeing it, then reached out and held it up: "This is—Herbie's memory—"

"It's Herbie's memory from the wasteland universe. It contains all the research results of Reed Richards from that universe during his lifetime. It might be useful to you, Dr. Richards."

Reed took the memory device and smiled. "Perhaps its most useful feature is that we can know what their past stories are like. A very good gift, Peter."
