Chapter 20 Alchemy Workshop
Chapter 20 Alchemy Workshop
With a heavy heart, Lynn returned to the mansion that Baron Narell had granted him.
This is a three-story villa.
The garden outside is exquisite, and even though it's autumn now, there are still some flowers in bloom.
Although its appearance is not as impressive as the manor I lived in as a child, it is still within the city.
In terms of price alone, this villa could probably buy two estates.
Brown Narell is quite magnanimous.
However, considering that the entire city of Nareel was his territory, giving Lynn such a villa was probably no different from giving a pet a nicer cage in his mind.
"elder brother!"
Tina had been peering out the window, and when she saw a carriage drive into the courtyard, she immediately ran out of the house.
As soon as Lynn got out of the car, Tina snuggled into his arms.
This girl is getting bolder and bolder.
My uncle and aunt are still watching...
Lynn felt much better and patted Tina on the shoulder.
"Alright, Tina, let's go inside and talk."
Tina nodded.
Her little face was flushed, and there was a smug smile on her lips.
Upon entering the house, a steaming plate of dishes was laid out on the table.
Roast chicken, lobster, roast lamb leg, white bread...
These dishes were only served during holidays when the Wilson family was still in decline.
These dishes looked and smelled delicious, and were clearly not made by Aunt Edith.
Lynn looked around the room.
The uncle and aunt sat awkwardly in the exquisite mahogany chairs, clearly not used to such a luxurious environment.
The servants came out from the lounge and kitchen, stood in a row, and bowed their heads to Lynn.
"Sir, welcome home."
Lynn nodded and waved for them to go back and rest.
It's obvious that they've planted informants.
Brown Narell was indeed not so easily trusting.
Lynn pulled out a chair for Tina to sit down, and then sat down next to her.
Aunt Edith was no longer so scared, but there was still some unease in her voice.
"Lynn, what, what's going on? We weren't on our way to..."
Uncle Anthony kicked her under the table, silencing her in time.
Lynn glanced gratefully at Uncle Anthony and slowly said, "A lot has happened. In short, from now on I will serve the Baron, and our family will be living in the city."
Uncle Anthony nodded.
"We'll listen to you, Lynn. But if anything happens again in the future, I hope you can let us know in advance. This situation is really... bad for your heart."
Lynn's tone was somewhat apologetic: "I'm sorry, I promise I'll make sure you..."
Uncle Anthony frowned and interrupted Lynn in time.
"What are you saying? We're family, there's no need for such talk. Besides, if it weren't for you, our family would probably be homeless by now. Honestly, our life now is unimaginable. I thought we'd never be able to live in a house like this again after we separated."
Aunt Edith quickly chimed in, "Yes, my only worry now is that those gossipy women in the village don't know we've moved to the city. If I have the chance to go back, I'll definitely have a good talk with them. I wonder what kind of expressions they'll make, hehe~"
Speaking of this, the smile and wrinkles on Aunt Edith's face were completely at odds with the aristocratic etiquette she always spoke of.
Uncle Anthony rubbed his temples helplessly: "Edith, this is the city, where many important people live. You mustn't go around saying things that could cause trouble for Lynn."
Aunt Edith looked indignant and immediately pinched her uncle's waist.
"You're the one who needs to be careful; don't embarrass Lynn in the city!"
Tina couldn't help but laugh as her uncle and aunt bickered and teased each other as usual.
This heartwarming scene brought a smile to Lynn's lips.
Do not worry.
I promise I will never let you suffer such a fright again.
Lynn thought to himself.
After dinner, the family assigned themselves to their rooms.
After his uncle and aunt went inside, Lynn knocked on Tina's door.
Tina opened the door and saw her brother; her face immediately turned red.
Her voice became weak and indistinct.
"Brother, it's so late, what...what do you want from me?"
Lynn felt a little helpless; what was this guy thinking about?
He gave Tina's head a good rub.
"Let's go inside first and talk about it."
Lynn barged into Tina's room and slammed the door shut.
Tina was somewhat at a loss in the face of this situation.
She leaned against the wall, her hands cupping her chest, her heart pounding, her face flushed crimson.
Seeing this, Lynn quickly took out the optical crystal.
"Tina, I have a task for you."
Lynn explained to a somewhat bewildered Tina how to charge the light guide crystal, and instructed her that the servants in the house must not see it.
From now on, he probably won't have any free time.
You can only train your spell aptitude before going to sleep.
This requires placing the crystal in sunlight to charge it beforehand.
Lynn could certainly put the crystal by the window.
But the informant who cleans the room like that will definitely tell Brown Narrell about it.
The less trouble, the better.
Brown Narell is a cunning and suspicious man.
Before he had the strength to rival him, Lynn dared not reveal any weakness.
Lynn finished giving her instructions in one breath and then left Tina's room at lightning speed.
If he stayed any longer, he was afraid the girl would start thinking about things she shouldn't.
......
One night passed.
Lynn was picked up early by a carriage sent by Baron Narell.
The carriage had no windows.
Lynn could only tell that he had left the city by the sound of his voice.
The carriage was bumpy and moving very fast.
After about 1700 counts, the carriage finally came to a stop.
Lynn stepped down from the carriage; the sunlight was a bit dazzling.
He squinted, surveying the seemingly ordinary winery.
Is this where Brown keeps his alchemists...?
The superhuman knight who was driving the carriage dismounted, whispered something to the guard at the door, and then ran back.
He bowed to Lynn and said respectfully, "Lord Lynn, the Baron has instructed you to stay here during the day, and we will come to fetch you in the evening."
Lynn nodded.
The guards at the door came over.
"Lord Lynn, please follow me."
The guards led the way.
Lynn turned left and right, and finally found the alchemy workshop after a door to a basement opened.
The doors to the alchemy workshop were opened.
The alchemists inside all looked over in this direction.
The guard cleared his throat.
"Let me introduce you gentlemen. This is Lord Lynn Wilson, a genius alchemist highly regarded by the Baron. From now on, please work together to provide the Baron with the best service. Also, the Baron will be visiting later, so please be prepared."
After saying this, the guard bowed to Lynn and quickly left the alchemy workshop.
Once the guards left, all the alchemists returned to their workstations.
No one paid any attention, not even glancing at Lynn.
This made Lynn, who had intended to greet them, awkwardly lower her hand.
It seems the relationship with colleagues is not very good.
But that's fine too, it makes it easier for him to secretly concoct potions for himself.
That's right.
Lynn plans to use the workshop's equipment and materials to secretly concoct potions for herself.
That's how he became stronger.
The only problem right now is that he can't let his colleagues discover his plans.
Otherwise, if Brown Narell finds out, he's finished.
