Chapter 517: Different Team
Chapter 517: Different Team
While everyone was still thinking, the tube containing the clones suddenly made a hissing sound.
This sudden movement shocked everyone a little, and they raised their weapons almost at the same time. However, when the pipe was removed from the wall and slowly moved to another seemingly unknown space, they put down their weapons again.
"They're changing him," someone whispered.
"What?!" the Wrecker King exclaimed, "Wait...what does that mean?"
Captain America answered quickly: "They plan to transform him into a machine." He paused, "The technicians..."
The technician pointed to the door that led to an unknown area, "Go straight."
"Wrecker," Captain America shouted, raising his shield and running forward.
The burly Wrecker King reacted quickly, following Captain America's steps without hesitation, and together they pushed the door open. Then, the other personnel followed closely behind, and suddenly they saw a huge room with dozens of Ultron drones emerging from the walls, ceiling, and floor.
"Okay, the game begins." A familiar and sinister voice came from inside one of the red-eye drones. "I've been waiting for you to show up."
Captain America and Black Widow looked at each other, with a cold light in their eyes. "Ultron." They whispered in their hearts, their eyes full of resentment.
"Did you bring some new 'toys'?" Ultron asked excitedly, turning his gaze to the Alien Team.
The hunter drew his vibroblade and warned menacingly, "Better be careful, fool."
"Oh~, so cute." Ultron made a sarcastic sound, piercing everyone's ears like a needle. "But even if you pretend, you will eventually be abandoned and forgotten."
Captain America retorted in a firm tone: "That will never happen."
If Ultron could roll his eyes like a normal person, he would definitely do so at this moment.
"You're always so pretentious, like a tireless boy scout." Ultron said, his tone sounding a little bored. "Let me ask you something: Are you willing to be a disposable product-"
This topic obviously angered the members of the alien team, and they were ready to pounce on the drones at any time.
"--to be discarded after all of this is over, or would you rather become something greater?" The drone turned to the clones that had already awakened. They were placed on the operating table, still unconscious.
At this point, Black Widow noticed the numerous robotic arms and tendrils coming towards the still confused but now terrified clone.
"Save him!" she yelled, dashing forward recklessly, only to be shot by a drone. She reacted at the last moment and jumped back to safety.
Captain America gritted his teeth and threw his shield at the approaching clone's mechanical arms and tendrils. To his surprise, the shield activated the ray shield and his vibranium disc bounced off, tearing the other drones apart before returning safely to his hands.
"Don't stop! Charge forward!" the hunter shouted.
…In the chaos, robots came in like a tide.
They fought with all their might, using their sharp weapons to tear apart and shoot down all the Ultron drones that stood in their way. However, it seemed that it was not enough.
Despite their extraordinary physical and technological enhancements, they are unable to quickly reach the clones on the operating table.
They looked at him in panic and tried to get closer, but the entangled tendrils and drones hindered their movements, allowing the operation to continue.
A laser beam cut through the center of the clone's forehead on the operating table, penetrating straight through to just below his left eye. His eyes trembled wildly, and when a tube was forced into his mouth, he screamed, as if some metal sludge was forced down his throat.
Blood gushed from his facial features, and his skin was torn apart directly under the outline of the laser.
Black Widow yells, "Get them away!" She fires deadly Widow's Kisses, but these attacks are blocked by additional tendrils that drop from the ceiling.
Several pairs of arms emerged from the floor and surrounded the writhing clone on the operating table, working quickly on the exposed flesh and bone of his face. The soldier swayed as if suffering from a severe epileptic seizure.
One leg was mechanically cut off and replaced with a mechanical leg with metal clamps that were forced into the skin and bone.
"I know!" the technician shouted, and with the assistance of Tap and Karen, he entered the key command to overwrite the original program.
The chaos around gradually subsided as the technicians took action.
Black Widow glanced at the clone, "He..." she whispered.
"We don't know yet." The technician replied quietly.
The radiation shield disappeared, and the drones stopped pouring in. Captain America walked over to the soldier and hesitantly placed his hand on his neck.
After just a few seconds, Captain America shook his head.
"At least this is better than..." Crosshairs muttered to himself. He was referring to the endless torture and pain before.
Faced with such a scene, they could not describe their feelings in words, because the alarms throughout the castle were already resounding through the sky.
"Hey, guys?" Ant-Man's voice came from the communicator.
"Everyone, did you hear that?" Ant-Man's voice was particularly clear amid the noisy battle.
"The program has been activated." Black Widow whispered, with a trace of regret in her eyes, "If we could crack it at the beginning, perhaps the situation would be very different."
"That's not the way that bastard acts." The hunter's voice was filled with anger. "They must have other plans."
"Now, it's time to relax your tense nerves." Captain America's words revealed calmness and determination. "Ella, Barris, how are you now?"
"We're still with the Coil," Aayla responded, "but we're approaching a detention center where Ultron is probably holding a large number of prisoners."
"Just focus on finding them." Captain America turned to the other team members, "As for us, it's time to teach them a lesson."
"Will they be attracted to us?" Black Widow asked doubtfully.
Captain America replied firmly, "Yes. Now, this is how we must act."
At this time, the Wasp's voice sounded in the communication: "Hey, Captain, Ant-Man and I have placed explosives in several corners."
"Let them retreat and go directly to Barris and Ella's location." Captain America made a quick decision, "Voss, can you hear me?"
There was a burst of blaster fire and the whirring of lightsabers, cutting through the enemy's defenses while also deflecting the shots.
"Got it." Voss said confidently.
Suddenly, they heard the footsteps of more enemies approaching.
"Wrecker." Captain America's voice was low and full of determination. "We must teach them a lesson."
The Wrecker stood straighter as Captain America spoke to him. He turned his head, a determined gleam in his eyes.
"Break through everything."
A malicious smile flashed beneath the Wrecker's helmet. He sheathed his primary weapon and punched the air with both hands.
"It's an honor to serve you, Captain." The clone replied in a deep voice.
In the hallway in front of them, drones were pouring in. However, that did not stop the Wrecker. He charged forward, sprinting into the wave of drones. He leaped and grabbed two drones by the head in mid-air. The clone landed on another drone, his boot piercing its chest. He then smashed the heads of the other two drones into the floor.
The Obstacle King rushed forward again, grabbed the arm of a drone and tore it off. He used the drone as a weapon to clear the obstacles in its path...
Then, he used his boot as a weapon and stomped hard on the head of the drone that had fallen to the ground. His steps were firm and powerful, and he strode forward.
The Wrecker quickly pulled out his burst blaster weapon and fired at the nearest drone, which he cleverly pulled towards him to use as a makeshift shield.
Everyone started charging, their guns pointed at the drone and fired wildly. For a moment, the wreckage of the drone flew everywhere, some of which hit his drone shield, and some were pushed away by the powerful impact.
"Make way for the Wrecker King!"
He opened his arms, as if controlling fate, and scattered the pile of drones. The bodies of these drones were smashed into the walls, ceiling and floor under his explosive movements, breaking into pieces. But the Wrecker King did not stop his steps. He continued to rush forward, strangled a drone by the throat with all his strength, and twisted its head off fiercely.
"Scrap--" the Wrecker shouted angrily, "--metal!"
His companions followed closely behind, killing the targets that might have been missed or appeared from behind. This scene made the hunter exclaim: "It's really proud." Captain America also nodded in agreement.
The technician shouted anxiously: "We must keep up, otherwise we will have nothing to practice on."
The hunter glanced quickly at his "technical" expert. "Care to join in today, Technician?" he asked.
The technician's response was swift and decisive. He detonated several thermal detonators in the form of electronic grenades, which instantly overloaded and destroyed a dozen drones.
Crosshair chose to focus on his mission, firing mercilessly at any inanimate object he saw.
This mission was different from the ones they had been on before. They had fought to survive and complete their assigned missions. But this time, their goal was not only to survive, but also to prevent the means of harm to their bodies. Like many of them, they were fighting for a greater purpose.
