Chapter 518 Finding the Jedi Master
Chapter 518 Finding the Jedi Master
Aayla Secura and Barriss Offee lead four clones to continue their rescue mission.
Along the way, they encountered all kinds of drones and strict security measures, but each time, they resolved them with lightning speed. Lightning, Cameron, and Lucky cooperated well, and each attack was extremely accurate, showing the results of their training to the fullest.
After dealing with the surrounding drones, Bligh chose to carry the coil on his shoulder in order to speed up the process. He and his team members followed closely behind, with Barris guiding them to find their captured comrades.
They turned the corner and suddenly found the drones with their arm cannons pointed at them. However, before anyone could react, an invisible force struck and the robot began to twitch, and was eventually hit before it could grow to full size. Wasp flew into the air and smashed a drone's head with her heel.
Immediately afterwards, Ant-Man made a brilliant appearance, using judo skills to flip a drone directly over his head.
"You two arrived just in time." Ella breathed a sigh of relief and put away her lightsaber.
"Captain and Vos's team are fighting Ultron's forces." Wasp explained the latest battle situation to Ella, "but this does not mean we can take it lightly."
"Then we must speed up even more," Bligh announced decisively.
The eight of them split up and checked each cell, finding several clone troopers inside. There was hope in their eyes, and they cheered for the upcoming rescue.
The Wasp and Ant-Man quickly took out the shrinking weapons they carried with them, and distributed them to everyone in the team, as if injecting courage and determination into their hearts.
As the team went deeper, they discovered that in addition to clone soldiers, there were also ordinary people in the cells, some of whom were even children.
"What the hell is that crazy guy doing with kids?" Cameron asked in shock, helping a detained Togruta girl out of her cell.
"To be honest, I don't want to know." Lightning's voice revealed a creepy fear, "I just know that we have to rescue them all."
There was a flash of fear in the eyes of the Wasp and Ant-Man. When they saw the children, their hearts were filled with pain. Some were locked up here alone, without even their parents. Only four or five children were lucky enough to be taken care of by some people.
"Warriors," Wasp spoke immediately, looking at the freed clones, "I know there are a lot of questions that need to be answered right now, but please form a defensive circle around the children. We need to keep them safe while we figure out our next plan of action."
The clones acted without hesitation, quickly forming a protective circle around the children. Their eyes were firm, as if they were the children's guardians.
One by one, cells were opened and prisoners were freed. Some cells were empty, while others were already full of people waiting to be rescued.
However, in this rescue operation, they still did not find the whereabouts of Master Evan Peel. Just when everyone felt desperate, Ella remembered her Tap and Karen.
"Tap, Karen."
"Yes, comrade/Ella?" The two AIs responded to her at the same time.
"Can you find where Master Peel is being held?" she asked anxiously.
"We'll start searching right away."
Karen’s response was swift and precise.
Soon, Karen replied: "He's at the end of the next corridor."
Ella glanced sideways and saw Barris leading a team of clones out of the cells on the other side.
"Barris!" Ella called out. "Master Peel is at the end of the corridor."
Barriss simply nodded to the Jedi Knight and handed the rescued clone to the other clones that rushed in.
While Barris went to rescue Master Evan Peel, Ella moved the freed prisoner to the cell next door.
However, when she stepped into the cell, a figure caught her attention. She looked at the man carefully, but soon Aayla recognized him - Tarkin, a newly promoted admiral of the Republic.
"Admiral Tarkin," Aayla whispered.
He stared at her blankly, his expression barely hiding the pain he was undoubtedly feeling at the moment.
Tarkin's left arm has been replaced by a machine, his chest and shoulders are covered with metal that has penetrated his skin, his right eye is blind, and several metal-like veins are visible on his legs.
"What happened..." Ella began in shock and confusion.
"He performed many experiments on me." Tarkin's voice was low and painful.
He took short breaths, each one a painful hoarse sound, and looked down at his new robotic arm. "Even the strongest man has his limits," he admitted.
Aayla gently walked over to Admiral Tarkin and placed her hand gently on his shoulder, "Can you stand up?"
"I have no choice but to do this if I am to survive," Tarkin said with a hint of hope in his voice.
She carefully helped Tarkin to his feet, and the moment he stood up, he felt the pain. Aayla noticed that his legs were shaking slightly, his teeth were clenched tightly, and sweat immediately appeared on his forehead.
"Admiral, are you alright?"
"Sympathy and pity will do you no good here, Admiral," Tarkin said quickly. "If I can't keep up, then give up."
"Nevertheless, Admiral Tarkin," she continued, her voice firm and unmistakable, "I am still a Jedi Knight. It is my duty to keep you safe, either through my power or through your own will. Now, let us get you out of here."
Their steps gradually moved away in the shadow of the prison. When they walked out of the heavy iron gate, Tarkin saw many clones and ordinary soldiers. Their eyes revealed a strong emotion - the desire for revenge. This emotion resonated in his heart, and he deeply agreed with it.
"Don't worry, Admiral." Aayla's voice was gentle but firm, interrupting his thoughts. Aayla handed him over to the medical clone.
"General Secura, where can you take these prisoners?" Tarkin couldn't help but ask.
"It's a mystery for now." Ant-Man walked past them, helping another pair of children who were brought in. His figure seemed particularly resolute in the chaos.
"The Avengers?" Tarkin whispered softly, "I always feel that there are other forces surging in the dark."
As soon as he finished speaking, the entire castle began to shake violently. All activities in the corridor came to a temporary halt, and even the air seemed to freeze.
"From the noise, they seem to be destroying this place." Lightning said.
"If they get that crazy, we'll have to speed up," Commander Bligh said decisively. "Come on, let's do it together."
As they continued to free the prisoners from the cells, a Jedi appeared in front of a door that stood out from the rest. This door was located at the bottom level of the corridor, there were no stairs leading to it, on the other hand, it had a chrome sheen that made it stand out more from the other prison cells nearby.
Seeing that it was locked, Barriss Offee tried to use the Force to open it, but to no avail.
So, she lit her lightsaber and attacked the door. Although it was not easy to pass through the door, at least she was not too worried because of the urgency of time.
Finally, she used her lightsaber to dig a hole in the door, revealing a circular room with a table in the center.
There was only one person sitting at the table, a thin, tired-looking man with his eyes closed.
"Master Pierre." Barris's voice echoed in the air, a little hoarse. She slowly walked towards the table.
After a careful examination, when she confirmed that Master Evan Peel was not injured and there was nothing unusual on his body, she felt a sense of relief.
At this moment, Jedi Master Evan Pier's eyes slowly opened, and his head moved slightly, as if waking up from a deep sleep. His voice was hoarse and unexpected, "Padawan...you are here?"
Barriss responded to him softly, "It's not just me, Master Pier. My fellow Avengers, Master Ella, Voss, and our forces are all outside. We need to get you out of here."
Master Pierre heaved a sigh of relief, his eyes showing concern. "Where are my men? How are they doing?"
"They are safe and we are getting them out now."
Master Pierre smiled slightly, with a hint of relief in his eyes. "What about the others? Are there any other companions?"
Barris was a little hesitant about this question. She paused before stammering, "Other...other companions...I don't know."
Master Pier narrowed one eye and looked around, "No, no, Padawan. Where is the other Jedi? I can feel his presence."
Barris's expression darkened and he turned slightly pale.
Are there more prisoners being held here?
Then she felt it again. That uneasy, foreboding feeling in the Force.
"You can sense it too, right?" Evan Peel asked calmly.
She answered somewhat incoherently: "Do you... do you know where they are being held?"
The Jedi Master pointed in a direction and said slowly, "They are being held captive there."
"You..." She hesitated to speak.
"Go ahead, Padawan," he whispered to himself, then stepped down from the table, "I'll join you soon."
